Ganga used to be one of my favourite neighbourhood spots — affordable, wholesome, and full of heart. The food had a home-cooked touch, and the service felt warm and personal. Sadly, that experience has changed drastically since Sumon’s departure. My recent visits have been disappointing: tea served cold or with sugar when we asked for none, nasi lemak heavy on rice but sparse on sambal, and “gluten-free” rotis that weren’t actually gluten-free. Still, I held on to some hope. But yesterday’s visit was the final straw. I had convinced friends—who initially suggested Mr. Naan & Mrs. Idly in Brickfields—to dine at Ganga instead. We placed an order for three aloo parathas at 10:55 AM. We waited... and waited. We checked on the order at least three times, and each time we were told, “Just 5 more minutes.” When I finally went to stand near the kitchen out of frustration, only one plate came out after nearly 40 minutes. The other two weren’t even ready. To make matters worse, the tea we ordered (specifically without sugar) came sweetened anyway. At boiling point, we left the restaurant without paying for the tea and patisa. I called Meetha Shah (the owner) while walking out. When we returned 10 minutes later, she said the issue was due to a “system error” — the cashier had apparently not sent the order to the kitchen. But here's the problem: Our order was not placed via a machine — it was taken by a staff member, with follow-up questions from three more after that. The cashier and kitchen are just steps away from each other. If the system really failed, why didn’t anyone follow up? Frankly, it felt more like deflection than accountability. Sadly, the charm that once made Ganga feel like a second home has been replaced by inconsistent food, poor service, and dismissive damage control. At this point, it’s expensive, basic, and simply not worth the hassle. A sad but honest reflection on what used to be a great little spot.

It is not gluten-free!!! It is not suitable for celiacs!!! I went after reading a review from a celiac who apparently is not celiac 🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️🤦🏽‍♂️because it is not suitable... yes for vegetarians but not for celiacs, it says gluten free on the menu but there is cross contamination, I went to eat and of all the menu and dishes that said gluten free I could only order salads and some rice noodles that only had vegetables, I ordered the rice noodles and they stayed on the table whole, they only tasted of ginger and coriander 🤦🏽‍♂️ the rest of the dishes had cross contamination, the service was very good, but it is not a restaurant for celiacs, it is a restaurant for vegetarians, I could not order the option with gluten free meat due to contamination. There is no gluten-free beer either.

Fox Paradox (Ampang) — A morning to remember! 😋✨ This restaurant brings a whole new meaning to the saying ‘food is fuel’. My friends and I visited fox paradox for breakfast during our trip to KL and established this was the best breakfast we’ve had so far. As we approached the restaurant, the first thing we noticed was the humorous menu sign left in the entrance. Immediately the vibe of the restaurant was felt throughout our group — this was not just another ‘food place’. The chic industrial arsthetic and chill atmospehere curated by the people behind fox paradox highlighted the amount of detail that owners of other restaurants often easily overlook. Small additions such as the catchy and vibrant music enhanced our experience greatly. Alongside that the seating was nice and cushy. Here are some our few favourites: 1. The gluten-free pancakes was a delightful addition considering it’s ability to accommodate to different diets. The dish was adorned with fresh mangoes and indulgent, fruity topping. Would definitely recommend! 2. The pasta options including the Cabonara was al dente (something our european-obssessed friend found very important). The rich, creamy sauce covered the pasta generously, balancing the peppery, salty taste. Overall, we were all very satisfied with the dishes we received. Need I say more? Just look the pictures!! With the service, we all agreed that it was highly efficient! The amiable workers greeted us with warm smiles and settled us in naturally. Would come again! Already recommend it to all my friends as well! ☺️ p.s. to any single ladies reading this, fox paradox has great eye-candy…but you didn’t hear that from me 🤭 portion: 10/10 service: 8/10 atmosphere: 11/10 food: 9/10

If you love Italian food, you need to check out Enoteca Vino e Cucina in TTDI – a cozy, casual fine dining spot that’s been around since 2014 (they started in Bukit Damansara!) Everything here is made from scratch – from the bread, sauces to the pasta, pizza, and even ice cream! I was honestly impressed by the variety of handmade pastas, especially the rare ones you don’t usually see around KL such as Maltagliati and Mezzelune plus I even found penne alla vodka here – been searching for it for ages! Their wood-fired pizza comes in 2 sizes (9” and 12”) – I went for the crusty 12-inch piquant La Maiala that’s generously topped with spicy salami, pork sausage, honey ham, bell peppers, red onion & chilli Theres also chef’s specials such as the Pepeso Saffron Risotto But what really stole the show was the massive grilled pork tomahawk Don’t skip dessert – the magic chocolate ball flambéed with sambuca is such a fun treat Bonus: they offer Gluten Free pasta & pizza options too Overall amazing quality and impeccable service! Food is really good but there is one bad thing They write on the menu that some dishes are nut free, gluten free etc but the food still contains those ingredients, their only nut free available and my friend who has a nut allergy ordered one of those dishes. So please for every other person who comes to this Restaurant: - change the sign to nut free available - and ask every time if someone has any allergies. Thank you

Gluten free menu!! They have a whole menu for celiacs! The manager will take your order personally and the food will come with a small flag to indicate the GF dish. The bbq burger was a dream

GF options are listed on the menu. Ypu order the food by a QR code and have the option to add nptes about your order. The food was very fresh and tasty. Would recommend and go again :)

I went there after reading some of the comments on Atly. I am also vegetarian. They had very limited options for vegetarian/coeliacs. I mushrooms and broccoli, which wasn’t amazing. The broccoli had some kind of crisp on it which I took off as I had no idea what it was. The mushrooms were in some kind of oily sauce. I felt diabolical afterwards, but it could have also been something I had the previous day. The staff knew about gluten free and had a book with things highlighted.
