Food was great. I love that they are able to make most items gluten free! It’s so hard to find Asian food with a lot of GF options here. The people I was with (who are not GF) also enjoyed their food!
A fantastic ambiance with EXCELLENT sushi! I am a big Sashimi person, but I decided to get some rolls instead this visit and I was very pleased! We loved the music, staff, overall vibe, and the accommodations for my gluten allergy. I highly recommend getting on the wait-list, or making a reservation before enjoy a delightful meal!
Thai Haven (the new name)
Under new ownership, Thai Haven is now run by TK, who has Thai heritage and a deep understanding of the cuisine. As someone who frequently travels to Thailand, this restaurant truly captures the essence of Bangkok's street food. I ordered the Pad Thai with extra spice, while my partner enjoyed the vegetarian and gluten-free version. The food was excellent, and we were even treated to a complimentary spring roll appetizer. What truly made our experience memorable were the friendly and helpful staff, both of whom were native to Thailand and had a delightful attitude. Despite living in Chicago for years, there were no language barriers. It was a pleasure to converse with them in my limited Thai. We plan on returning often for the fantastic food, reasonable prices, and outstanding service.

My partner (celiac) and I went to this location last weekend. Everytime we eat out, we tell the waiters of my partners celiac and 2 weeks of pain to help paint the picture and ask for the gf menu. Luckily, their menu was already marked so our waitress said those should be safe for celiacs (though I now see others here that said their waiters said it was not safe), there is not a dedicated gf fryer, and that they’d let the staff know. Even though they said that, the way they said it came off like they didn’t super care, so we’re unsure if the staff actually does have these safety discussions. Which sounds like they don’t take cross contamination seriously, since my partner did get sick. Which is quite a bummer since we really enjoyed the food and the vibes of the place. We were going to definitely become repeat customers if it was safe, since it is in our area, but we will not be returning.
For just a food-based review, there are a good amount of options labeled gf where you can have a good, quick meal. The sushi itself is not the fanciest, but it curves the cravings and it’s right for the price point (~$10-$20 per roll). We loved the taste of the one pink (highly recommended) signature roll. We ordered 4 rolls total for 2 people. Again, take that all with a grain of salt since it’s not actually gf safe.
Definitely recommend pho for gluten sensitive people!
The food was amazing, service was lovely. The owner is very obviously passionate about his job. I had the angus beef pho and it was delicious. The restaurant has a cozy, tavern-like feel.
gluten free options and marked on menu! i had the gluten free kimchi fried rice with beef and fell in love! this will definitely become one of my regular places to find great gluten free food!
