Lots of gluten free options, a wide variety of food (from sushi, to Thai curry, to noodle dishes, and more).
Food is good and priced well.
I thought the presentation on some of the food was a little cheesy and it’s not very cohesive, but I think that is part of the charm of this place. Everything that comes out is like it’s own little art piece. We walked by another table on our way out that had a very detailed and artistic dragon made out of colorful mayo (I think?) so fun and creative.
10/10 one of the best places I’ve eaten! Everyone there was friendly and the food was great, and especially entertaining if you get something spicy that your friends aren’t used to and have them try it. Not only loved their different meals, along with the fact that you could get a majority of them gluten free and vegetarian which is amazing, but all the drinks they had to choose from were great as well. I would recommend it to anyone looking for something quick and good, especially the tteokbokki!
Kai Zan is by far one of the best sushi places I've ever been, including Japan, the rest of southeast Asia and LA. Their dishes are unique, delicate and never disappoint. Every time I'm back in Chicago I try to stop in. Oyster shooters are my favorite along with some of the hamachi sashimi dishes. Yes yes yes!!! Oh and they're great accommodating gluten free.
Incredible- loved Arami and would highly recommend. We have done a la carte as well as omakase and both have been phenomenal.
The omakase experience was particularly lovely. Each course was meticulously prepared and thoughtfully crafted. They are also able to accommodate to gluten free.
This place is one of the only sushi spots I can safely eat at as a celiac! They always make sure to double check the order is gluten free, and they offer tamari. I also love that when I call an order in, they already have a note that I need the entire order gluten free! Super nice people all around.
