This place was so wonderful! As a plant based and mostly gluten free family it can be a little challenging to find lots of options in town, but Oryza has amazing options and they’re delicious! The staff was incredible and the restaurant was super clean. We loved the atmosphere and the meals we got. We will definitely be back again!
I had a very nice meal. They do a great job of accommodating people with gluten sensitivities. I had a philly roll and hibachi chicken. Overall the meal was very satisfying. The portion size was surprisingly large, too. The star reduction is for two reasons: 1) the chicken was slightly overdone and dry, but that is very easy to do, and it didn't prevent me from enjoying the meal. 2) There was a slight fishy smell when walking into the restaurant, presumably from the aquarium you will see upon entering the building, where they sell koi fish. Overall, I was happy with the visit and would return.
I loved eating here! The environment is very upscale but family friendly. It’s clean, well maintained, and the staff in its entirety was friendly. Our waitress, Ashley was incredibly accommodating and knowledgeable. The food came in large portions and was delicious. We did Hibachi and one of us got chicken, the other steak. Sushi, as the appetizer was good and a reasonable portion. I’m gluten free and this hibachi grill was accommodating to that too. They made my food separately, with gluten free soy sauce and gave me extra soup as I couldn’t have the salad dressing. Overall an excellent experience and the show that accompanied the hibachi was so fun.
When we came in and ordered the food ,the cashier asked if we will be dinning in or takeout . We told her we would be dinning in. We came in to Teriyaki madness at 8:30pm not knowing the restaurant was about to close (9pm) when our food was ready they told us we could not dine in as they were closing. We ended up having no choice and to eat it in the car. They did not give us utensils so we had to go back and bang on the window. The salmon teriyaki was burned and the chicken breast teriyaki was very dry.
The edamame beans were not cooked enough. We asked for gluten free soy sauce due to an allergy and found out the hard way after eating it that it wasn't gluten free.
The food itself tastes average nothing special comparing to all the Japanese food we always had. Probably won't come here again.
On a road trip through the area, in desperate need of a gluten free option.
Sushi? In West Virginia? Yep! And it was really good. Prices were actually quite a deal too. Service was very attentive to the gluten free need and made sure we were aware of what we were ordering.
Tried New School Cafe for the first time tonight. Had the TPBLT with gluten free bread. This is hands down one of the best sandwiches I've ever had. The portion was huge and the sweet potato fries were also amazing. Service was very good and the employee answered all our questions with a smile on her face. The atmosphere was relaxed with good live music. I highly recommend going here. It was also very clean which is rare around Martinsburg.
Being recently diagnosed with celiac disease, having a restaurant with a menu entirely gluten free is amazing. We had Korean, Mexican, Thai, and Vietnamese cuisine all on the same table and it was executed to perfection. The owner / manager was very helpful and made a great recommendation for the spicy pork Korean tacos. Will be coming back very soon! Definitely give it a try if you enjoy good food!
The fact that they have a good gluten-free Pad Thai really does put this over the edge. I loved everything about the food. The staff knew was gluten-free was and was able to accommodate to the allergies to ensure that everything was safe. The seafood Pad Thai is most definitely worth it Not only was it a huge portion but it was full of all the mix Seafood which was fantastic. Would 100% come back here again. I am dreaming of this food. Sushi was just eh.
Fantastic food and service. My wife is gluten free (celiac) and pregnant so the options are limited, but the two people working (front counter and chef I think) were extremely helpful and came up with an amazing veggie bowl for my wife to eat. I had the tacos (1 of each) and they were delicious. Unfortunately they were out of ramen, so I'll definitely have to come back and try that!
Angga’s the best!! He took the time to call me right away when I’d mistakenly ordered something with gluten (the eel sauce on the eel), which saved me a whole nasty allergic reaction. That was really diligent & most people are neither that knowledgeable nor considerate of food allergies. He immediately had a helpful alternative. Also, he’s consistently delivered amazing service, is super professional & on the job. Anyway, we love this place & a lot of that’s because of him, even though I didn’t actually know his name till today & finally called to ask. That said, all these guys seem to work really hard & the service is great.
I’m also pretty sure this is the best sushi in town. The fried rice and pad thai are also good as long as they put in enough vegetables. The prices are very reasonable, and we could spend under $10/person & get full, but we usually go buckwild and order 2 meals worth while we’re there. Makes for good leftovers.
We called ahead to ask if they could do gluten free. They said yes. I assumed that they meant that they had gluten free soy sauce or something. They did not. They made my meal in the kitchen, so I did not get any sort of show. They did not add any sort of soy sauce, or any seasoning at all, not even salt. This was $15. They did not even salt it. This is hospice food.

Ariana was an absolute pleasure! She took care of me and helped me find things to eat,as right now I’m on a gluten and dairy free diet, and that’s sometimes hard to navigate in restaurants. She was very accommodating and welcoming, even though I came in 23 minutes before they closed! They did not make me feel bad about that and they told me I could dine in even though they were closing up for the day. That made me feel very good, especially since it was a busy Friday night out and they’re not a lot of places to go out to that aren’t packed. The food was delicious. I enjoyed it immensely as it was my first time eating Vietnamese food she made a lot of great suggestions which I enjoyed and even took home some leftovers, I felt the portions were very generous!

So very grateful to the thoughtful staff and chefs here. Being gluten free can be so limiting but they were quick to let me know what was safe, even customized the sushi rolls to accommodate. We had our young kids and the hibachi chef adjusted his routine to their comfort level (fire). Thank you for a wonderful experience and delicious food.
