Popped in on the off chance on a Sat lunchtime. The main thing for me being Gluten intolerant was whether they cater for GF. They certainly do, really great options, I had Cod n Chips and it was great. The service and staff was fantastic, so I will be calling in again when I'm in the area.

Very good service. The food was very good and cooked from fresh, also gluten free choices. We needed gluten free as one of us was celiac and the staff were attentive to our needs. Will visit again and would definitely recommend to others.

Dined here with a friend last night and the Pelican exceeded our expectations in terms of quality and value for money. We had 3 courses and a glass of wine each and spent ~£35/head which is very reasonable. The dishes were a great fusion of creative gastronomy and country pub cooking with portions that were generous without being overwhelming. I highly recommend the whiskey smoked salmon to start. The building itself is charming, welcoming and clean, and the staff were attentive but relaxed. We will be returning! Thanks. I was a little disappointed that (V) options were listed in the menu but allergens felt more of an after thought and we’re just scribbled on. GFO were limited to dishes that didn’t include gluten but a few freezer staples like gluten free pitta, or gluten free bread would have opened up the rest of the menu to individuals with these dietary requirements.
