Yesterday afternoon we stopped in for a late lunch after a recommendation from our daughters friend. Everyone on the staff was warm and welcoming. Joel was our bartender. He was very attentive and obviously took pride in his drinks and overall work. We wanted to see the town so we told them we would be back again later. We came back again and Joel was there to help us again and we had an even better time. The night staff on Halloween was just as amazing as the staff earlier in the day. The food was incredible as well. Being gluten free due to Celiacs, everyone was knowledgeable and accommodating. They even had the best cider I’ve had yet and a gluten free beer. We wish we didn’t live 5 hrs away just so we could make this somewhere we could frequent but we will definitely be back when we visit Penn state again.
I've passed by the Corner restaurant so many times but never made the attempt to wait for a seat. Well, I did it. I waited only 20 mins for a table of 3 and it was worth it. Our group was seated in a booth with a window view. We ordered a sticky bun to start and it was delicious!! We opted out of the ice cream topping since we also were having breakfast. I had the Eggs Benedict which were fabulous. My daughter had a BLT and avocado on gluten free bread. She said it tasted like normal bread. Big win for her. My son was the only one not thrilled with his pancakes. They were overcooked on the top and bottom, but crumbly in the middle. Maybe completely overcooked? Not a win for him. Overall, it was a great experience and our waitress was excellent. The menu options were perfect so I'm sure we'll be back.
In town for the Penn State Hockey game and staying next door at the Fairfield Inn and Suites and Otto's Pub was very convenient for drinks and food. We have been at Otto's before but not for a couple of years. Our first night we tried the margarita pizza, not impressive, very thin with little crust and very soggy. Tasted almost gluten free. Would not order again. The beer selection was decent, but my lager choice was fairly flat with very little carbonation. Our second night eating at Otto's was somewhat better, my wife liked her Reuben sandwich, and my chili was just average. Not impressed with the beer I had. Overall service was excellent.
