Personally I feel this place is way overpriced. A gluten free cheese and ham toastie (and we are talking about the small Warburton's bread, nothing fancy or special) is £5.25, no salad garnish, no coleslaw or a few crisps etc just a toastie on a napkin. Please be aware you are given one very small butter for normal toast, the normal bread is white and like a bloomer so bigger than normal. One butter covers half if you are lucky. I asked for two more to be told they are 40p each for extra butters! The poor waitress told me her hands are tied it's what the manager had stated. I got the impression this is a regular request. In the end I got my butters for free from the manager when I stated I'd already paid £5.25 for a small toastie, and toast and a coffee and at over £15 I was not going to spend anymore on butter that is clearly needed. This is really such a lovely and busy place, the staff, including the manager are all lovely too. I will go back but just for a coffee.....unless my small toastie has garnishes to warrant the price 😏.

I had visited a few times before so arranged my sister in laws baby shower here yesterday. We sat in the beautiful conservatory den and had afternoon tea which was beautiful! (Price also Includes tea, coffee and unlimited cordials) The service was fantastic, food tasty and good portions, everything was fresh but the best bit was the staff, especially Debbie who could not do enough to make sure we were well looked after and felt at home. We had several allergies and gluten free and they again accommodated with no issues whatsoever. Thank you for giving us such a lovely and relaxed afternoon to welcome my new little nephew.

Scored a great location on Google maps, offers an interesting tour of an old mill, and even has a space for event rentals.
A lovely tea room with polite and friendly staff. Firstly, there was plenty of parking and access was easy for me as I have mobility issues. The tea room was clean and tidy with pretty tablecloths and nicely decorated. We did not feel rushed or pestered to hurry and the atmosphere was relaxing and calming with views of the river from the back of the tea room. We were given plenty of time to choose our food and there was a good selection of options, including gluten free items. We opted for a jacket potato with cheese and baked beans and a mature cheddar cheese and onion chutney sandwich made with seeded bread. Both meals were served with a generous side salad and salted crisps. The food was delicious and prepared with care. We then chose to have desserts and there was again, a good selection. My friend chose an Ice cream sundae and I had warm chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream. Again, both delicious and beautifully presented. All the cakes appeared to be home made as we did see two ladies arriving with beautiful cakes in clear boxes. I even brought fruit scones with jam and clotted cream home for my husband as there is a takeaway service too.

Ciara was a fantastic server, she was with us whenever we needed her and unobtrusive when we were enjoying our food. We were a party of 8, including a 2 year old, someone with gluten intolerance and someone with learning difficulties and she managed our order very very well.
