Gluten free options! Leadville definitely comes through for those needing this! Though a tad awkward because the online info says burritos can be made into a bowl, we didnt realize that meant they give us a burrito and we have to unwrap and dump contents into the bowl to make it gluten free-it was very good none the less, the GF quiche was gone already so that was the option for us. Coffee is a very bold flavor and kids like the tasty options in muffins and streudal!
We drove two hours to try The Golden Burro after reading an article that stated the new owners had made just a few changes to the menu. Unfortunately, there was not a single plant-based or gluten-free option available — a huge step backwards, especially in a state as inclusive as Colorado. On top of that, the entire place reeked of ammonia. It was so strong we couldn’t even smell the food, and I felt like it lingered with me long after we left. I absolutely appreciate a clean restaurant, but not at the expense of an overpowering chemical smell. Disappointing overall.
Found this breakfast/lunch place on our visit to Leadville. You order (and pay) at the counter and then they bring your good out to you. The #1 Bagel Sammie had crunchy bacon, a big slice of cheddar and a fried runny egg on a plain or everything bagel - it was probably the best breakfast bagel I’ve ever had!! My friend had the #5 Bagel Sammie with the Locks & cream cheese on a gluten free bagel and she loved it. The outdoor patio was relaxing and the service was friendly and timely. I noticed they have a No Pets sign on their outdoor patio but I saw at least 4 dogs with their owners enjoying the patio so I guess it’s ok to bring your dogs as long as they are leashed. The atmosphere on the patio was much more inviting than the inside. I would go here again to eat breakfast or lunch!
We came here for dinner and breakfast. This is officially my favorite go-to place when I visit. For dinner I ordered the Steak and Cheese curds and I was immediately in heaven. I definitely cleaned the plate easily. For breakfast I had the omelette, has brown and gluten free toast. So simple but so delicious. It wasn’t so heavy making me feel like I was going in a food coma. We also enjoyed the Tumeric juice which was incredibly fresh.
The vibe is wonderful and I loved the modern accent. This was the first restaurant where I ate in front of a real candle! The ambiance is truly special and didn’t feel like it broke the budget.
