It’s always spooky going to restaurants and not knowing if I’ll get sick or have cross contamination. This entire place is completely gluten-free minus the mole sauce. But it’s really easy to swap that out. You run no risk of cross-contamination here. Even the tortilla chips are gluten-free Everything there is so tasty. One of the owners cannot have gluten, which is why everything is so easily eatable by gluten-free people. Staff is completely knowledgeable! Just make sure you tell them you cannot have gluten and they’ll take care of you. This is my new favorite spot. I was able to eat the tortilla chips lol I know that seems really funny though but you get it!
Nice and festive environment. It's a shame that gluten free food is kept next to gluten free food, without any attention. If you are celiac I don't recommend going
Lovely warm-feeling and cozy cafe with a variety of breakfast and brunch options. My partner and I both had the salmon toast with different sides. If this isn't the most delicious thing they have, I'd love to know what is, because it was incredible. I got mine with gluten-free bread as they have several options to substitute if you need to. The cappuccino was also delightful. We'll certainly be back again!
I’m visiting Chicago and I searched for nearby donuts! Wow did I get lucky! This place is amazing. The donuts are fresh and so many flavors! The money bread donut was so good! The Margarita donut was my favorite! I tasted the pineapple coconut fritter so amazing! I love the gluten free and vegan options they have available too. I’m taking some back to PA! Check them out.
Went with wife, brother, sister and my niece I was able to get my favorite omelet-( spicy fetta), my wife got her gluten free pancakes and my brother was able to get his dish cooked in butter. The waitress was pretty attentive and filled up my coffee cup several times. Only problem I had was parking police kept checking cars out front, and I only got an hour. If I come back again going to make sure I get two hours on parking meter.
Came at their rush hour, so it took 15 mins to get seated and about 20 mins to get our food. Worth the wait though. Great gluten free options avaliable.
I used Sugar Fixe Patisserie for my wedding cake and desserts. Wonderful! I requested a vegan wedding cake and gluten-free cupcakes, and they delivered. The cake was so airy and light you would never guess it was vegan. Since I've been allergic to milk for along time and I have tasted a lot vegan cakes. This cake is on the top of my list. They were so professional with all my requested. The cake was even designed like I had requested. My guest loved the cake too. It was so good that the leftover disappeared. The greedy venue took it for themselves.
This was my first time here, and hopefully won't be my last! The food was excellent, and I appreciated the gluten free options for waffles and pancakes. I loved the cheddar waffle with short rib. Sofia did an outstanding job with helping me navigate the menu, and her service in general! Overall, I had a great experience.
Best biscuit and scone I’ve ever had in my life!!! My husband said the gluten free cookies and French Financier were amazing, would love to see some GF savory options in the future. Coffee is great as well. This place is killing it
This diner has so much to offer with an extensive menu, diverse fresh food and quick service.. This year upgrading his menu with gluten-free options serving organic dark roast coffee with options for the lactose intolerant carrying oat milk... But one of my pet peeves at a lot of breakfast places is frozen hash browns. I can't stand it. Georgei s serving up quality, with a hard labor real hash browns.. 40 years in business and you can tell.. between the quality of the food and efficiency of the restaurant. And let me tell you how fast that kitchen is. I've never been at a place where you sit. Your order is taken and for the most part in less than 5 minutes your food is out.... I highly recommend this place. Although open 7:00 to 3:00. He has lunch options. The best soups. I've had split peas on Wednesday Navy Bean on Thursday. Beef barley cream of chicken Thursdays and Sundays and if you are a soup connoisseur you can order soup at 7:00 in the morning. That's my type of restaurant.. I truly love this place
I, absolutely, would not return. If you have ANY dietary restrictions or food allergies, be very cautious! I’ve been plant-based, eating a vegan diet, for 9 years, and they brought me a crepe with chicken! I took a bite and knew it was chicken. I checked the menu ingredients of the “veggie crepe” to make sure that this couldn’t possibly be a plant-based chicken; it’s to have veggies only.
I ordered the “Veggie Crepe” and my companion ordered the “Poblana Crepe”; both of these crepes are listed as vegan on their “vegan/gluten free” menu. When the food was brought out, the runner said “veggie crepe” and sat the plate in front of me and then said “poblana” and sat the plate in front of my companion. Mine turned out to be the chicken crepe and my companion’s turned out to be the veggie.
I waved down, who I assumed to be the host/greeter, because he was nearest when I figured I had bitten into chicken. I told him what was going on and it didn’t seem like he got the gravity of the situation. It seemed like a minor thing to him.
The waitress was nice and apologized; she said she had put in the correct order. I don’t understand how such a thing could happen. When we were paying the bill; they acted as if they were doing a great service by removing the charge for the chicken crepe from the bill! We weren’t paying for that in the first place! Neither of us eat meat or ordered it!
Something else I noticed; the menu is very misleading. On the regular menu, the “Veggie Crepe” has dairy, but the same named “Veggie Crepe” is on the vegan menu with vegan cheese. So you could order the veggie and get dairy or vegan cheese without knowing, if you don’t look at the regular menu. Also, they have the gluten-free and vegan items grouped in a separate menu together, which can be confusing, it almost suggests that the items are both gluten free and vegan. These should be two separate sections. I asked for the manager, who was the same person that greeted us, Jesus. I told him everything about the menu as mentioned above.
The restaurant was absolutely negligent and didn’t seem to sincerely care that the messed up big time!
An adorable, humble, genuine, down to earth, friendly and so much pie shop. The pie is amazing whether trying the award winning pie or a custom (ive had 3) are wonderful. Food allergy? They can customize and make a pie to help avoid them like gluten, wheat, dairy, egg. Probably many more. Stop in or call ahead. It is worth it.
