We were quoted 20 minutes for a table however ended up waiting over 50 minutes, watching multiple groups walk in and take priority because they were larger. Whether this is for cashflow - I’m not sure, but I would favour people who have been waiting the longest rather than seating larger groups instantly as they walk in. (And no they did not have a reservation).
The lady at the counter was rude about the delays and kept telling us it would be another 10 minutes. She should have quoted us an hour if all the two person tables were unavailable for this long. She screamed at us saying ‘I just work here’ instead of providing a solution.
I went to order the breakfast sandwich on gluten free, (the menu says GFA) - to the server telling me it’s not good with gluten free. So that lead me to be confused as to why they would offer it that way.
Honestly the place was such a shit show. As a New Yorker I would never return.
Food was average too.
Delicious coffee and food options like empanadas (including vegan options) from Nadas in the West Village, along with Colombian breads like pan de yuca. The staff is friendly and the shop is cute. It's a great addition to the neighborhood. However, it's no longer 100% gluten-free, but they still offer gluten-free options with a risk of cross-contamination for celiacs. It would be great if they could have separate equipment to ensure safety for celiacs in the future.
I was recommended this place to bring my mom as she has a gluten allergy, and they were lovely! Brought out gluten free bread and pasta with no contamination issues. I loved my aglio e olio and everyone at the table had a great time. Expensive but worth it
I keep coming back to the store. I had a tropical smoothie today, which is a combination of mango, papaya, banana, orange, grape, and guava juice, and it tastes so good. Now, they also have halal and gluten-free options on their menu!"
