I have loved Dolce Vita desserts for almost 10 years. When it was time for my wedding cake, I knew I wanted Dolce Vita, even though I now live 2+ hours away. Mary and the team were very communicative regarding traveling with my cake and made the process seamless. The cake was everything I hoped for! It was beautiful and delicious. We had some gluten free guests who we got cupcakes for and they said it was the best gluten free cupcakes they have ever had !
I always enjoy coming to Sowers when we're in State College! They have some good Gluten-Free and Dairy-Free options if you're not sensitive to eggs or rice! I've not ever got something I didn't like here!
Sunday was my first visit to Webster's. At first, I felt like I was crashing a private party. I think this was mainly due to have warm and welcoming the owner was. She was greeting and chatting with everyone. The food was amazing. Heaven for vegan and gluten-free needs!
Love Chick-fil-A. Always fast. Has gluten free options that work for us. This location is very difficult to get into and out of, but Chick-fil-A is great and this location has fantastic employees!
We had wonderful service on both our visits to the state college area for games. They are able to modify the eggs to be gluten free and they have delicious gluten free pancakes. Definitely recommend this location!
This restaurant is really a home cooked Italian meal restaurant with fine dining prices. The prices, and the need to purchase dinner salads and sides separately, suggest that you are eating at a fine dining location. But the food itself is more like very delicious home cooking. Just not sure that what you get is worth the price. On the plus side they have numerous gluten free options, and the atmosphere was friendly but not homey. And the food was tasty. The service was slow, even though it wasn't crowded, and when the waitress did come by, she would leave empty handed with dirty dishes left on our table. Our table was small so it began to feel crowded.
Pretty good. I appreciated the gluten free bun. The chips were just alright and the pickle didn't have a ton of flavor. I would recommend going with fries or another side instead
I've passed by the Corner restaurant so many times but never made the attempt to wait for a seat. Well, I did it. I waited only 20 mins for a table of 3 and it was worth it. Our group was seated in a booth with a window view. We ordered a sticky bun to start and it was delicious!! We opted out of the ice cream topping since we also were having breakfast. I had the Eggs Benedict which were fabulous. My daughter had a BLT and avocado on gluten free bread. She said it tasted like normal bread. Big win for her. My son was the only one not thrilled with his pancakes. They were overcooked on the top and bottom, but crumbly in the middle. Maybe completely overcooked? Not a win for him. Overall, it was a great experience and our waitress was excellent. The menu options were perfect so I'm sure we'll be back.
I know Waffle Shop is a State College institution, but I always find their food to be mediocre. It's a traditional diner with lots of choices, but even their namesake item - Waffles - is just blah (soft and mushy). When I stick with standard eggs, toast, sausage, it's better. Be careful if you have issues with gluten though, since my husband got glutened there (he ordered an omelette instead of just eggs, so we suspect they might use batter to make the omelettes fluffier. Should have asked)
I’ve been here twice and I had a similar experience both times. The food is amazing, the drinks are wonderful – but, the service feels rushed. I made a reservation both times I’ve been here (once for my birthday and once for no specific occasion). Despite this, the service felt rushed and not up to par with the quality of the food and the “upscale” dining experience.
For example, our server brought our food out while we were still eating our charcuterie appetizer. This actually happened both times we dined here. They asked twice to take it out of our way while we were still eating.
Overall, we were in and out within an hour. As someone who has worked in hospitality, it felt like they were trying to flip our table and didn’t care about the quality of our dining experience.
However, the food makes up for this every time because it is phenomenal. I had the mushroom cavatappi & my partner had the barrel burger. They’re very inclusive and have vegetarian and gluten free options. Highly recommend the food!
Loved this place! Our server was fabulous from start to finish. We had French press coffee and it tasted like the coffee in Europe. I need to eat gluten free and was so happy to have an egg sandwich on a GF bun and couldn’t pass up the crème brûlée. So good! My husband had the Chicken Fried Chicken and he said it was really, really good. If you want a variety of tasty food with a casual atmosphere and very reasonable pricing, go!
A lovely new spot and much needed addition to the local food scene! They are debuting the full food menu tomorrow so today was a coffee date, and my first time trying Turkish coffee! Definitely recommend trying it and getting the experience--very strong coffee that is not at all bitter. I normally can't drink black coffee at all but this was excellent. It's served with a little sparkling mineral water and two small Turkish delights. I also got the rice pudding which was excellent. I'll definitely be back for brunch!
I was also delighted that they had a couple gluten free cookie/muffin options. Would love to see those options carried through to the full menu, and having gluten free bread to go with shakshuka!
