A great place to go if you and your friends enjoy sci-fi/fantasy/horror themes. A lot of care and effort has gone into making it a fun place to have drinks and food. The staff and service have always been friendly and accommodating. One of our group is celiac and one is vegan and we have never had an issue.
Cafe Landwer, conveniently located on the southeast side of Bloor and Yonge near the Bloor TTC stop, is an inviting spot perfect for a cozy meal or coffee break. The space is bright and airy, with large windows offering plenty of natural light and a patio for outdoor dining on pleasant days. The atmosphere strikes a balance between bustling energy and comfort, making it an enjoyable place to relax or catch up with friends.
The menu is a delightful blend of Mediterranean flavors, catering to various preferences with vegan and gluten-free options. Whether you're in the mood for breakfast, brunch, lunch, or dinner, there’s something to satisfy every craving. I tried their signature shakshuka, accompanied by freshly baked pita bread and a crisp, vibrant salad. Every bite was a testament to the quality and care put into their dishes. To complement the meal, I indulged in their Sahlep drink, a warm and fragrant winter treat made from orchid tuber flour—an absolute must-try.
Despite the steady stream of diners, the service was quick and attentive. The efficient booking system at the entrance ensured a short wait, even during peak hours. With its reasonable prices and high-quality offerings, Landwer Cafe is a place I look forward to visiting again soon.
AMAZING!! Didn't try the cocktails though. Pasta Asiago was 20/10 !!! I got the gluten free pasta and was soooo delicious. The seafood risotto was... meh... the calamari and creme brulèe were super good. The wine was ok. 1 appetizer, 2 dishes, 500 ml of white wine and 1 desert: CAD 130. Service was really good.
Cute cafe and came with high expectations but let down. Website and online showed lots of gluten-free options - when we arrived there was only one egg bake and one gluten free bar marked as gluten free. Staff was rude when asked about other options. Got the granola and watched the girl use the same tongs as for the other products. When I asked for a fresh one from the back she gave me a lot of sass. Super unprofessional considering I told her it was an allergy. I would not recommend or go back.

Had drinks and nachos - staff were really nice, especially waitress! Staff easily accommodated my gluten allergy (celiac disease) a with corn chips and they were so good. We each had three drinks each - and we were feeling really good by the time we headed home.
Tasty food with a decent price. They even had gluten-free options! My meal was basic, but the potatoes were seasoned nicely, and it came quickly.
Large restaurant inside, and a nice little patio outside. Across the street is a new condo development, be careful of flying dust, but interesting to watch.
