They have dedicated fryers and are well versed in Celiac protocol. I had the fried shrimps and it was amazing. Highly recommend it!!! Staff is incredibly friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. I just loved it!!!!
We came to the keys for a week and found this place for gluten free diet and the pizza is great. I’m not even gluten free but my girlfriend is and I even love their gf pizza crust
Gorgeous outdoor dining right on the Beach. Many gluten free options. Very popular place.
Unique covered tables out on the beach that are actually gliders - difficult to describe but awesome. We ate under the massive Tiki roof.
It was just okay. The coolest part was definitely the free games to play while waiting for lunch. However, even with those, I wouldn't go back because it was just okay.
We have food allergies. I was surprised to learn the gluten-free pizza crust has cheese. The server was a little snoody when she told me that all cauliflower pizza crusts do because she was so confident and so wrong. I've been gluten free for 11 years and have a child who could not have dairy for several of those years. I've read ingredients on pizzas myself and also have spoken to chefs at restaurants. Never have I seen dairy in the crust before so I really did not appreciate being talked down to like that. Otherwise the service was decent.
The pizzas were just average though. They were a little overdone, and the sauce was pretty "meh." There are much better options around that I would recommend checking out instead.
The Square Grouper leans into its quirky Keys history with a fun, drug trade-era theme that gives the whole place a bit of an edge — in a good way. The upstairs bar is lively and well-run, and we appreciated the good conversation and service from the bartender.
The menu upstairs is small, and gluten-free options are limited. It was a bit frustrating that they couldn’t bring food up from the main restaurant below. That said, we did head downstairs for dinner and had a solid meal. The wine list was especially impressive, and everything felt curated for a more upscale experience.
It’s definitely on the pricier side, but if you’re looking to splurge on a night out with some character and a great drink in hand, the Square Grouper delivers.

Great meal and experience! My wife and I consider ourselves foodies. My wife is gluten free so finding a high end restaurant that has more than a few options for her is somewhat challenging. Around 85% of the menu was gluten free. Everything tastes wonderful from the beautifully prepared fish of the day to the sides. They were offering fried lion fish which was a bit of a novelty but it was wonderfully done.
Highly recommend this restaurant if you happen to be looking for a nice night out!
Delicious and a great menu for breakfast or lunch! They have gluten free bagels too, so if needed, you can still enjoy any sandwich or spread on the menu.
Amazing place!! I recommend . Excellent experience very clean and delicious dish, the shrimp was cook grill perfect . Maybe ONLY place All Florida Keys with GLUTEN FREE option!!
Had an amazing time here! I had been all up and down the Keys for a week and this was my last meal on the way to the airport. It was absolutely amazing! The skillets were phenomenal and as a bonus, gluten free. Loved their bottomless mimosas, views of the water and the amazing service. Can’t wait to come back again in the future.
Are safely as gluten and coeliac, the waitress was so helpful and gave me lots of advice and knew exactly what coeliac was etc, the food was ok the bun my fish burger came in was very dry and I opted for coleslaw for a side which was barely any as I could have chips, so food was ok, but the main thing was it was safe and the waitress was brilliant in making me feel relaxed and confident to eat there
