This restaurant is a real gem! I have two sons that have Celica's disease. It is very hard to find true gluten free restaurants. From the moment we stepped in, the staff was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about gluten-free options. The menu was extensive, with clearly labeled dishes, and we were able to create a fantastic meal. Even the dessert was a showstopper. The food was flavorful and delicious, and we left feeling satisfied and impressed. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone that has Celica's Disease.
GF waffle was meh. I have celiac so I am judging in comparison to GF foods purely. The cheese had a crust on it like it was American cheese that had been overcooked and the peppers were cooked somehow such that the skin was still super tough but the meat was mush. The service was also quite slow. The savory choice didn't work out. I do not appear to have been glutened however, so a star is earned back for that.
Nearly everything on the menu — including the chips — is gluten-free! Their new printed menu doesn’t show GF menu items though, strangely. The waiters were confused that nothing was labeled and had to go back to consult with the old menu. Great atmosphere and friendly staff.
I LOVED this place, I could eat gluten free, healthy food and enjoy the venue's lovely ambience. Due to having more free time than I had anticipated I ended up here several times, slowly becoming more familiar with the lovely staff there. I cannot recommend the cauliflower bowl, it is DELICIOUS, yes, really, I had it every time I went, it was filling and healthy, and just tasted so good. I was also able to enjoy a sweet treat with my coffee's too, which was the literal icing on the cake!
The prices are very reasonable, the atmosphere was fantastic, I was able to put my laptop on and work away, watching the coming and going of customers whilst enjoying a beverage or two. Genuinely, this was the best place for food in the main street area - bravo.
We had an absolutely fantastic meal here on Valentine's Day. Even on a busy night, we were seated promptly for our reservation, but not rushed through our meal.
The drinks menu is delightful, and the zero-proof options are thoughtful and complex. We had delicious appetizers (GF Corn Muffins, yum!) but could have skipped the chicken wings.
Entrees were delicious and both of us commented on how nice it was that the dishes came with several accompany vegetables - it made it feel like a complete meal without having to order a ton of sides.
Finally, the desserts were delicious - the chocolate mud pie is definitely shareable, and we also enjoyed the banana pudding.
One of us ordered gluten free items and they were all delicious, definitely recommend for dietary restrictions!
We enjoyed a great meal on the patio. Food is ready super fast and is so fresh and good. Easily customize for food allergies including dairy and gluten free. The brisket is amazing… we’ll be back!
Very tasty. They forgot my sides and had to go back and get them, and one of our fish was overdone, but they took them off the check so that was nice. Everything else was tasty. We recommend the seasonal veg, the mashed potatoes, and the corn chowder. Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff. Very good with gluten and meat free requirements, very accommodating.
Loved the caramel vanilla latte prepared perfectly to my requested customizations! The egg/spinach/cheddar breakfast sandwich was the best breakfast sandwich I've ever had especially on the gluten free rosemary English muffin from Orange Dot bakery. Thank you for making me aware of Orange Dot! The mellow mango smoothie was so refreshing and not too sweet! Thank you for great friendly service! I'll be back for sure!
This was one of the best breakfast experiences I’ve had! The service was fantastic and our waitress was able to easily accommodate my gluten free diet. Our entrees were great, coffee was delicious, and the inn vibes were cozy. Definitely worth a stop!
Wonderful dinner and service. We were so happy that the heat broke and we were able to eat outside. Our server kept our water glasses full which was very appreciated since it was still warm.
I am Gluten, Dairy and soy free so I always worry what I'll be able to eat.
The server helped me pick and I got the brussel sprouts over grits with chicken. I also had a few cocktails,
My husband had the salmon burger
The Ego Boost is a really nice cocktail, I would recommend it if you like bourbon.
We finished the night with the GF almond and olive oil cake that was to die for.
Excellent dinner and experience overall.
My wife and I had an amazing experience and meal here. My wife has celiac disease and normally when we go out to eat the questions we have about gluten free options are usually seen as an inconvenience or burden. Our visit tonight was quite the contrary! Paul went through the menu item by item and did it with an enthusiasm that shows his love for serving others and love for food. The meal was exquisite and next time we are in Charlottesville we will be back. Ask for Paul!!!
Had a wonderful experience here. HUGE selection of beer from all over the Americas. They even have GLUTEN FREE BEER! The best two brands IMO. Had dinner and many laughs.
What a fantastic restaurant. And Thomas, the manager, was an unbelievable host. Super accommodating and made sure my wife's gluten allergy could be accommodated.
Excellent restaurant! They are extremely mindful when you tell them you have celiacs. Best place I have ever been as far as allergies. Kaleen was our waitress and she is awesome! Thank you.
I've been frustrated over the last 6 months or so trying to get gluten-free options at the Timberwood grill and I asked this week and the manager Stephanie went out of her way to take time to understand my situation. She went and got me a menu and made a special point to hear what I had to say and to help me and they have fantastic gluten-free options, good food and the management here is really great. Especially Stephanie.
Very nice atmosphere for a comfortable dinner with my two children and husband. Food was fresh, good quality, and well seasoned. The staff was very friendly, and it’s a really nice refuge from the downtown Charlottesville.
Hummus was re absolutely delicious, and so is the falafel.
Gluten Free
Eat here now!! Just find a place to park an and walk on over! Great vegetarian options, even delicious without the bread!! I was a little sad that it is all sandwiches, but the fried green tomato on greens was amazing!! So even if you're GF or reducing gluten, this is the spot. The lovely and attentive waiter informed me that they have a separate fryer for GF! So thoughtful. I'm excited to come back and try more deliciousness. I was sad to see blue grass grill close, but this is actually amazing and I'm glad they're here ♥️
Our first visit here! Warm friendly service from host and Denise our server who kept our drinks full! Delicious Greek feta spinach omelette and crispy perfect hashbrowns. Family enjoyed fresh blueberry pancakes. Staff went out of way to check for gluten in ingredient lists which we sincerely appreciated! Biscuits were a little dry and no apple butter but lots of jam choices. Also a bonus was the well equipped individual/ family handicap accessible restroom!! Very hard to find on the road! We were so pleased with everything! Definitely will return!
Edited to add: 2nd visit was equally wonderful! Super kind friendly team! Lovely fall decor! Felt at home and welcomed. Great diner!
DelIcious and relaxing meal at the Southern Crescent. One of their specials today was the gluten-free pecan waffles and they were TO DIE FOR. Lovely outdoor patio, live jazzy piano on the patio as well. Great experience and I look forward to coming back!
Best dinner ever! I assume we really lucked out with the open mike night but perhaps it's more frequent than I assume it is. But the food was amazing. Both my sons said it was the best sandwiches they ever had. My salmon was amazing. My wife loved her salmon salad. Although I couldn't touch the apple pie (gluten issues) my family just loved it. Service too was great. This 5 star rating is an understatement.
I am familiar with BJ's from having spent a year in El Paso. We loved that restaurant-- first went when I had a friend visiting who has celiac disease, and they had several gluten-free options (including a GF pizookie, which is TO DIE FOR). This was my first visit to the Charlottesville restaurant, with the same GF friend, and perhaps it was just the staff working there today, but they were not very knowledgeable about the GF options, and more importantly did not verify answers, even after it was made clear that my friend has a legit allergy, not just "sensitivity." So her fish tacos came out in regular flour tortillas, which my friend realized after a couple bites. Good things: the manager made it right and didn't charge for the entree, after we inquired and heavily suggested that move; they still have an outstanding beer selection; the rest of the food was good (gigantic ahi tuna salad pictured); and the pizookies are still OFF. THE. CHAIN.
We had our wedding rehearsal dinner at Kardinal Hall and we had a fantastic time! The staff was very easy to work with and were very accommodating for dietary restrictions and last minute guest additions. Chrissy was very responsive and had answers to all of my questions, which made planning the event a breeze. There are many dining options for larger groups, and our food (pork schnitzel, cabbage, roasted potatoes) was delicious! We had gluten-free and vegetarian guests who all raved about their food! The service was excellent, and the atmosphere was very fun and the perfect energy that we wanted for our rehearsal dinner.
Great prices for the freshness and quality of food and drinks. Love Brazos- friendly folks. Great option to have corn tortillas on any taco to stay gluten free.
A unique and beautiful atmosphere. Yummy food and I appreciated their marking gluten free options on the menu and knowledge of gluten free. I got the pad Thai and it was great! There’s no kids menu but our kids enjoyed chicken fried rice and the all day breakfast!
