We absolutely love Beertown — and more importantly, we trust Beertown. My fiancé has celiac disease, and it can be really tough to find restaurants where we feel safe AND enjoy great food with lots of options. Beertown is our #1 choice. They have a full gluten-free menu, always take extra care with his order, and he’s never been glutened here — not once. The atmosphere is always warm, welcoming, and a little trendy. Plus, their patio is fantastic — dog-friendly with beds and water bowls brought to your pup without even asking. Couldn’t recommend this location more!
We went in tonight for supper and service was amazing. Husband had the rodeo burger and fries amazing! I had the club on gf bun with the side cobb salad amazing! This restaurant needs to be on "You got to eat there!" Thank you for everything and making sure my Celiac does bother me!
Delicious food, friendly service and so many options. You can get your burger/chicken/mushroom etc with any combo of crazy and tasty toppings you can imagine. They also have more plain options for people who just want the basics, and they have a ton of vegetarian and gluten free options so this is a safe place to go for all kinds of eaters. Everything I've ever tried has been really good. The only thing I would say though are the prices are a bit high for what you get, if this place was less expensive it would be perfect but for a treat it's great.

Unfortunately, I was not impressed. I had the Mediterranean Chicken which was recommended by the server, who said it was a good choice because it was completely gluten free and I have Celiac. She also recommended pan frying the chicken to ensure no cross contamination. For this, I was thankful and this is the reason I rated the service a 4 star. However, the chicken was way overcooked, to the point of being very dry and difficult to chew. The chickpeas were also overcooked to the point of being mushy. Not sure if would come back to give them another chance. There are many choice of better restaurants in Barrie.

Flying monkeys has a great atmosphere and space. The service was excellent and we really enjoyed our beers. One note is that since the vodka sodas aren’t fully gluten free, there are no options for people who can’t eat gluten. I always appreciate when a brewery has just one alcoholic option for my celiac friend.
Finally tried out this place and it didn’t disappoint! Picked up takeout for a quick midweek dinner. I ordered the Royale with cheese on a gluten free bun (it’s great they offer this option) and an order of fries. My boyfriend got the double picante burger combo with a poutine. I really enjoyed my burger. The gluten free bun held up - always important. The fries were chiptruck quality, which means they were excellent! My boyfriend enjoyed his burger. He mentioned that the gravy in his poutine had a different taste. He wasn’t a huge fan of that yet still ate it all so clearly it wasn’t bad. A great spot to check out! The staff were friendly and our meals were ready without any real wait. We will be back!
