Delicious celiac safe establishment with world class baked goods and crepes. Their almond and chocolate croissants are fantastic! The crepes were devine. The owners were present, extremely friendly and confirmed their food was celiac safe. I was diagnosed with celiac 8 months ago. In my prior life, an almond croissant with morning coffee was a favorite. This was my first gluten free croissant and it was the best one I’ve ever had…better than I remember. Please visit this cafe and enjoy everything on their menu. Bon appetite!
The service is lousy, and there is a big lack of hygiene. Gluten-free pastries are not bad but not great either.
If you're looking for a quick gluten-free pastry this is good. Otherwise it's not worth it.
I stopped at this place because I find the idea of offering gluten-free, sugar-free and low-carbohydrate products excellent! A good for all and a comfort for us diabetics. I pushed the door and as soon as I entered... I almost came across an unmarked dangerous step. Then not a hello, I heard that I was taken care of after having made a selection of products. Two people who entered after me were served before me. I waited and when I asked to be taken care of I was told: ''You have to calm down, it's nice outside''. Following this comment, I put the items down and left your store. Sad, I wouldn't come back... and to all those with a sweet tooth looking for pleasure, I don't recommend this shop.
One of the best brunch places in Montreal! Accessible prices, gluten-free version available without problem for celiacs, and excellent food with copious dishes!! Special mention for the scrambled tofu, the Greek, the full vegetables, the asparagus Benedictines and the red juice that I take every time! In short, a treat, a warm and friendly atmosphere. Thanks to chef Saïd for delighting us!
So glad this place exists!
The food is phenomenal and everything is vegan. They also have many gluten free options that aren't marked on the menu (you can ask when you call or ask a waiter.tress on site).
I'm obsessed!! I'm not vegan nor am I gluten intolerant, but Sophie Sucree is still my bakery of choice! My colleagues and I order the surprise boxes from Sophie Sucree at least once a week, it's such a good deal and it's so fun to see what we'll get! Their almond croissant in particular are out of this world. You would never know it's vegan. And their brownie with ganache is to die for as well. I've never been to the bakery in person but I hope to pop by one day :) Thanks Sophie Sucree!
Pasta made fresh at the restaurant and the quality was outstanding in my opinion. I absolutely loved what I got: gnocchi with mozzarella and tomatoes in a pesto sauce. Cute space and really easy to hear each other talk even though there was music. The pizza looked good but none of us tried it, I like that there were cauliflower crust options and other gluten free options too if you need that. Also lots of veg options. We were served toasted bread and olives with oil and balsamic to start and they were perfect. I definitely recommend this place and especially before all those new condo developments bring in tons more people. We had two cars and were able to park right in front on a Saturday night.
Extremely disappointed
Paying $16 for a salad of this size (which is more like a starter) is really shameful
Service ok
5 cheese pizza, correct however And choice of gluten-free which is rare and always appreciated
Loved the place! With I could've tried all the food! Staff was great and the vibes of the place are awesome! Gets full quick though! Many vegan and gluten free options. Definitely going there for my brunch again!
Very small pastry, I had doubts with the vegetarian and gluten-free, but I was wrong! The cupcake I had was simple and delicious. It was almost evening and fresh pastries were still coming out of the oven while I was there.
Beautiful terrace with a lovely atmosphere. The service was quick, pleasant and accommodating. The food was delicious and gluten free friendly! My dog also had a blast on the terrace and was offered a bowl of water
So cute. The cats were all friendly and adorable. Food was good, tried the gluten free brownie and a latte. Not many food options but the focus is more on the cats and coffee.
Absolutely delicious and fresh food. Chai latte was spicy, the way it should be! Wished they had a gluten free bread option but other than that I was very pleased.
Diagnosed celiac here. I had one of the best, if not the best customer service about this. I called in advance describing my disease and asking if I had any gluten-free options, and the manager was so helpful, offering to read me the ingredients and even open a brand new box of sorbet to avoid any cross-contamination. He instructed one of the employees and she was indeed informed once I arrived, although one of the other employees was less helpful when I first came in. Portion size was huge (depends on the person though) and I overall felt really lucky.
Tl;dr No "certified" gluten-free options but an amazing, personalized, customer service with lots of transparency so that you can make an informed decision.
This is what I ordered (picture); buckwheat crepe (gallett) with emmental cheese and sauteed apple to go. I'm gluten intolerant so all the crepe I try in Montreal is of buckwheat.
I've never seen galletts of this color before... it's a VERY dark gray and looked weird, and tasted weird too. I don't know what it is though, it tasted too intense and ...bad. Fillings were just cheese and cooked and sweetened apple, just nothing more than that.
For buckwheat crepes, Juliette & Chocolat does it better! I won't come back here for galletts.
Damn best cafe ever. They have enough sittings and it's best place to come in with remote working. They also have gluten free and lactose free brownie (San gluten et vegan)

I love this coffee! The atmosphere is always warm, the coffee, the croissants and...the rocks (gluten-free too!) are simply delicious! I can't wait to come back!
We had 3 pastries and they were all excellent. Classic cakes, but also gluten-free and vegan if desired.
Quite busy setting and overheated place, but nice!
I’ve been veg most of my life and rarely eat out but I’ve heard so much about Fal St J for years and always wanted to go. I live close by so finally went. I have mixed reviews.
The gluten free falafel pita was THE BEST we ever had. They had amazing selections of veg sides as well. We got a few and they were all good.
The blonde lady with the nice smile was friendly and patient with all our questions as well.
The downside:
The place is VERY small, cluttered, dirty and there’s nowhere to park. It’s surprising that a place so popular wouldn’t find a larger and cleaner location. So small inside that we felt rushed to make choices because there was so many people inside a small area.
All their ingredients list are in French. No ingredient lists on their web sites either
You cannot see the prices they are entering into their register and they refused to give a paper receipt. Not legal but the place was so packed my friend wasn’t going to stand there and argue. It was $90 for 2 sandwiches and some sides? Didn’t make sense but I waited outside while my friend paid or else I would have demanded by receipt.
I’m glad I finally tried it out, but we won’t go back.
The employees were friendly, but
unfortunately do not speak French at all.
Then, lunches are very expensive to have chips and bread…
Lots of gluten-free options though! If you are celiac, I do not recommend.
My friend and stopped here while exploring on our first trip to Montreal and what a hidden gem! A perfect stop for breakfast or lunch, we had a regular waffle scrambled egg sandwich, a vegan/gluten free avocado sandwich and their fermented hibiscus lemonade. The food was very good, and the service was warm and friendly, but the atmosphere was the real standout! Their outdoor eating space in the back of the cafe is a little courtyard full of ivy, greenery, and a winding staircase that felt like we were transported right out of Montreal to a little waffle fairy cafe! Highly recommend making a stop here!
Good gluten free black bean muffin/brownie, but the Matcha latte was bad. Too hot, too much matcha and poor quality, also overpriced. For the rest, I don't know their other products, I can't comment. But the staff was friendly and quick.
Excellent service !

The place is nice with a patio in the back, just a shame it closes early at 3pm. Staff is very friendly, you can buy a few organic cereals/jams/beers/chocolate and gifts. They have a gluten-free brownie and the matcha latte is great but their filtered coffee is quite light/watered down so better to get an allongé.
I was super excited to try this cereal bar. It is close to Lionel groulx metro. The place it self had a row of bar seats in different areas, booths and tables with seating available.
The menu did have a lot of options to choose from and was especially accomadting for gluten free, vegan and non-lactose options/substitutes. The items are a bit pricey and the non lactose substitutes being +$1.00 additional charge.
The food itself wasn't mind blowing but decent. The house pancakes were average. They had a pretty dense texture although, I expected it to be fluffy. My friends matcha pancakes were less dense.
There wasn't much people but the service could have been improved as we had to flag down our waiter to order.
So cute !! The Greek Goddess salad was delicious, so fresh. Our server was super nice and welcoming. The gluten free bread is good and there are a lot of gluten free options 🤗
Delicious fruits and fluffy pancakes.
I basically look forward to coming here every time I visit Montreal (from southern Ontario). Love the location. It's such a cute cafe. And I was pleasantly surprised to find 3 gluten free desserts. And a delicious salad nicouse. And I always appreciate friendly service in Montreal.
All very good. There were only two gluten-free sweets but what I tried was really good. The shop assistant a 10. And the atmosphere too. It's not cheap but the quality/price is very good.
We had the Antipasto, Pesto, Bolognese and Cesar salad + A gluten free pasta. Everything was excellent and our server Jasmine was quick, polite and a great server. Overall experience was wonderful and highly recommend
They have the best gluten free bread I've ever had and the rest of my family was as impressed with their traditional baguette, foccasia and croissant. So much more to sample. It's a beautiful, clean, modern bakery and the baker and his assistant couldn't have been nicer.
A wonderful cafe with plenty of choices, including gluten-free! The kids were big fans of the ice cream. The small repair kiosk outside was a lifesaver when we were 15 km from home with a bent brake rotor! All in a lovely, green, quiet neighbourhood.
Since Covid hit; the crew at Caffé Della Pace has been preparing lovely meals for our family of five twice a week at a very reasonable price. Really appreciate the effort in preparing vegetarian and gluten free menus. Bottom line: good food that you can feed your kids guilt free for less than ordering pizza.
Serve gluten free pizza, cupcakes, and cookies as well as great selections of salads. My favourite is quinoa salads and their zucchini pizza with soft bread. Been there a few times when it’s not crowded and got a good service.
Fast (10min) delicious food with nice presentation in a pretty atmosphere (relaxing clean terrace, welcoming and sweet staff). Couldn’t ask for a more ideal lunch break. I had the eggplant ragout (Fessenjan) and I plan on coming back to try more vegetarian options :) the first time I stepped in here just to look at the menu, the woman at the counter gave me a yummy Persian smoothie sampler. They have vegan gluten-free pastries.
Edit/ returned to try the kashkbademjan, another eggplant and yogurt dish, and it was incredible. Came back again to have the smoked eggplant omelette with the parfumerie de la vie tea and it was really nice. Sekanjebine et concombre drink was really good. Matcha smoothie was good. I had the do piazeh (potato dish) recently and it was delish. The berry pistachio omelette was simple but well done with subtle Persian flavour. Will defs keep coming back
I tried orange café three times for brunches.
It is usually crowded and the service is fair.
The first two times were so good.
I am on gluten free diet. They have gluten free toasts (almost extra 3$ charge) and I asked for sweet potatoes instead of the potatoes (also extra charge).
The sweet potatoes were good and the whole dish was delicious.
The 3rd time I went there, I ordered the same thing I had before with the gluten free toasts.
I started eating and I had one whole toast, and all of a sudden the waitress came to tell me that I got the one with normal/gluten toasts and she apologized for this mistake.
They brought me another plate but this time the pouched eggs were not well cooked.
I got so bloated and with the uncooked pouched eggs , I felt like vomiting.
The last experience was not pleasant for me at all. Thank God I am not celiac or allergic otherwise this mistake could harm me in a very bad way.
They did not charge me (which is the least they can do). I was bloated and I felt heaviness the whole day coz of this mistake.
I put 3 star to pay more attention to such things as this may cause real harm for people with strict dietary restrictions.
Despite my last bad experience, they have good options and it is a good place to have a breakfast or a brunch.
