Second time in this tiny restaurant and not disappointed! Even if the Greek food is incredible, when you are lactose-free or gluten-free, it's nice to have a break and a place where you can order things without worrying. We are big fans of Mexican food and regularly prepare it at home. We were excited to try this place on our family trip to Athens, but I gotta say it did not deliver.
I have celiac disease and I'm very sensitive to cross contamination with gluten. This place was recommended as one of the few in Athens where I can safely consume gluten free food safe from cross contamination.
I have to admit extra precautions were taken when I informed the staff of my condition and I felt Ok after the visit. But I was not impressed by the organization and I definitely felt anxious about getting glutened at this place.
Furthermore, the food was below par as quality and taste. I had the tacos with grilled beef steak. The taco shells were old and dry, the typical crispiness was missing. The meat was not well seasoned and had a strange taste. The guacamole was bland, I expected more from a Mexican place.
My wife and daughter were equally not impressed with their food. They were particularly disappointed by the churros.
Overall, it's Ok if you want to try Mexican, but don't expect much of this place.

I love Poncho's tacos! It's a charming little hole in the wall. He makes his own masa for his incredible corn tortillas And they are gluten free. His passion for home style Mexican food keeps the menu simple but, sooooo sabrosa as they say. The Pico de Gallo and his 3 levels of salsas are the cherries on top. He can accommodate

Found this little gem while staying at the Moxy. I have celiac and crohns disease and am a gluten free vegan. Mama Tierra didn't disappoint! The hummus, fantastic! The caramelized onions on top, genius. Great flavor profile.

I got chilaques con salsa roja, which was like tortillas, feta, salsa, eggs, pico de gallo, and it was delicious! The flavours were very tasty. Very busy spot, indoor and outdoor seating. I didn’t ask about making other dishes gluten free. Also had decaf coffee! Really nice brunch spot, would recommend ☺️
