Giving one star because zero is not an option. Highly disappointed and will not ever return. We arrived at 8pm after checking the website for hours and driving 30 minutes to get there because I have Celiac. The young man behind the counter said we couldn't eat there even though they weren't scheduled to close for half an hour (nothing is indicated on the website that dine in closes before the actual restaurant, if it was, I would have understood). He agreed to let us eat in a long as we were finished by 8:30pm. Then this miserable lady (owner) came out with a scowl on her face and barked at us that we can't eat in because they need to clean and mop the floors. I almost canceled my order, but said fine, we will be uncomfortable and eat in our car (because driving home would result in soggy, cold food). I ordered gluten free halibut ($25.95) and poutine (extra charge) with no gravy since I brought my own (I've eaten here before and their gluten free gravy is horrible, so I bring my own). They offered no discount for the fact that I didn't get gravy that they charge $2.99 for, but they quickly charged my husband 75 cents for tartar sauce. They brought the food out and told us we could eat there (but let us stand there thinking we were going to go eat in our car until the order actually was ready). The gluten free fish batter was not cooked to the point that I couldn't even eat it. The fries were not fully cooked. They clearly rushed the order because they were more concerned with closing the door and running out at 8:30pm on the dot. Customer service was abysmal, food wasn't much better. A huge waste of almost $70 for a meal only half eaten. Will not make that mistake again. If you are looking for under cooked food with a bad attitude, this is your place!

I needed a gluten-free option first thing in the morning. Odd request, I know, but there was a man ordering the most delicious looking Chicken Parmasan on a bun at 9:30 am, and I got a sandwich with a gluten-free bun, absolutely delicious 😋

A Culinary Haven in Oshawa - A Personal Favorite! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The White Apron Restaurant holds a special place in my heart, & it has consistently been a favourite of mine every time I revisit Oshawa. Introduced by a friend in 2019, this culinary haven has never failed to impress. One of the standout features for me is their dedication to accommodating dietary preferences. The fact that they offer gluten-free toast & French toast is a game-changer, especially for someone like me who is celiacs. It's a rare find & adds an extra layer of love for this spot. The food itself is nothing short of delicious, & the portion sizes are generous. Many of the meals are so hearty that they can easily be shared, making it a perfect spot for a communal dining experience. The staff at The White Apron are the true gems. Their super-friendly, helpful, & kind demeanour adds to the overall welcoming atmosphere. It's evident that they are passionate about what they do, & their dedication to ensuring a positive dining experience is truly commendable. Now, let's address the only minor hiccup—the parking situation. Being located downtown, parking can be a bit tricky, but it's by no means unmanageable. The inconvenience is a small price to pay for the culinary delights that await inside. In conclusion, The White Apron Restaurant is a true gem in Oshawa, & my personal favourite. The dedication to accommodating various dietary needs, coupled with delicious food & exceptional staff, makes it a must-visit. The parking challenge is a minor detail compared to the overall joy this restaurant brings. Highly recommended!

I’ve been to Baxters multiple times and they always have amazing food and service. I have celiac and they have many GF options. The servers always help with questions regarding their food. Today we had David as our server and he was fantastic.
