Bunner's Bake Shop in Kensington Market is a must-visit for anyone looking for delicious vegan and gluten-free baked goods. They offer a wide variety of treats, from cakes and cookies to bars and other desserts.
I was particularly keen to try their pies, but unfortunately, they were sold out by the time we arrived. This speaks to their popularity, so I'd recommend arriving early for the best selection.
Despite missing out on the pie, I was still impressed with the other options available. I especially enjoyed their date squares, which were both sweet and chewy.
Got their gluten free poutine was pretty good, fries were crispy lots of cheese and perfect amount of sauce they also have gluten free fish and chips !
Definitely a little pricier. Customer service was great our server was very kind. The food was okay, it was a little bland in my opinion but I’m not an avid eater of Mexican food. The restaurant itself was very beautiful. The service was very fast. Would definitely go again especially because they have vegetarian, vegan, and gluten free options.
Hands down one of my favorite places to eat in Toronto! Such delicious and nourishing food. Excellent gluten-free options (ask for the gf large meal or pizza). My only complaint is the limited hours 😂

One of the best quick lunches for a gluten free person to grab.
Great before a few drinks or after a few... Definitely good in the morning after a few too many.
I had an absolutely unforgettable dining experience at this Mexican restaurant in Toronto! From start to finish, every dish was crafted to perfection, and I was so immersed in the flavors that I didn’t even stop to take photos—something that rarely happens.
The bone marrow was rich, buttery, and perfectly complemented by the seasonings and accompaniments, making it one of the most indulgent dishes of the night. The Argentinian shrimp were plump, juicy, and bursting with incredible flavor, cooked to absolute perfection. What truly elevated these dishes were the freshly made tacos—soft, warm, and the perfect vessel to savor every bite of the bone marrow and shrimp. The combination was simply out of this world.
The ceviche was another standout, unlike any I’ve had before. The texture was unique, and the balance of acidity, heat, and freshness made every bite an explosion of flavor. It was clear that every ingredient was chosen with care, resulting in a dish that was both refreshing and bold.
To finish, the gluten-free dessert was an absolute star. It had just the right amount of sweetness—enough to satisfy without being overpowering. The texture was spot on, proving that gluten-free desserts can be just as indulgent and satisfying as any other.
What truly surprised me was that I’m not usually a fan of Mexican food, but this restaurant completely changed my perspective. Every dish was executed with such care and precision that I left wanting more. If you’re in Toronto and looking for an authentic, elevated Mexican dining experience, this is the place to go. An absolute must-visit!
We were so happy to stumble onto this little restaurant since my partner has Celiac Disease & the menu stated repeatedly very many items being gluten free. We told our server about the Celiac disease and asked for recommendations. Unfortunately, both the servers and the chef don’t seem to have any concept of what GF actually means but are completely reassuring until repeatedly pressed on items that were obviously not GF. There were three separate items that were served that ended up not being GF and my partner actually ate half a wheat tortilla that was brought as a substitute for other wheat flour chips. She ate half but thought It tasted too good to be GF and the server only then confirmed it was in fact wheat, but didn’t seem to understand that wheat is exactly what we need to avoid. After three separate errors, including both main dishes, and no sense that the restaurant understood how to provide a safe meal for us, we needed to leave and head home ASAP waiting to see how bad the gluten contamination effects would be. We have never before sent food back and would have loved to try what looked to be very tasty food. If we could ever be convinced this was safe for people with Celiac Disease we would love to try again sometime.
Small place and cozy. The burger was very delicious. I had a gluten-free bun. It was messy to eat that kind of bun even though that at it was delicious, too.
Great vegetarian spot. I ate here 3 times while visiting Toronto. Nice tea list. Gluten free options. The vegetable soup broth is super tasty. The hot and sour soup was nice and thick and tart. My dad enjoyed his wonton soup and the gf noodles with beef was excellent as well. The lemon grass fried rice is something I must recreate when I get home. Highly recommend for my vegan & Gluten-free friends
Ordered lunch to be catered for my office of 20 people and it was the best experience!
They were able to accommodate my next day order, the ordering process was smooth, delivery was on time, they set up the food spread, each item was nicely labelled (including if it was gluten free, vegan, nut free, halal etc. - there was something for all restrictions) and the food was delish! Everyone loved this meal. 10/10 will order again :)

I have celiac and my friend has a peanut allergy: our server was really well informed and helpful in picking out our drinks and food (we were both amazed by the level of care when it comes to our allergies). Our server even made sure to double and triple check with the kitchen to make sure the items she recommended were okay! The food was simple but really good, the atmosphere was nice and service was quick!
BEWARE IF YOU HAVE GLUTEN INTOLERANCES! The burger I ordered at The Burgernator was perfect and delicious, however… I have to eat a gluten free diet, otherwise I get horrible SEIZURES the more gluten that enters my system. This is a very serious health issue! I had called ahead of time to make sure that they offered gluten free options, which the man on the phone replied that the burgers were, and you could get a gf bun. When we got there, the cashier (I believe her name was Ezra) was nice and friendly but didn’t seem to speak English that well, or really understand what I meant when I asked about one of their burgers on the menu being gluten free. I asked about the burger with the buffalo chicken strips added to it. She said that it was gf, so I ordered it. When she brought it to us, the chicken strips were noticeably breaded, so I asked her again, and she said that 100% it was gluten free. I did not believe her, so I took them off my burger. After I finished the rest of the delicious burger, I went and talked to someone else behind the counter, and NO the chicken strips were not gluten free! I told the man what happened and yes he did apologize, however, I believe we should have got a free burger or order of fries or something in compensation for this horrible accident.
Came here last night with a friend and drank the Steelhouse cider like water. Had the best steak frites I have ever had. On another wonderful note, I can’t eat gluten (which I’m kind of embarrassed about when I’m at restaurants) and I asked about the desserts, happy to find out that their sweet potato sorbet was gluten-free. They were super accommodating even though I know they didn’t have to be, and everything was an all-around 10! SUPER cute atmosphere in the freezing weather. The service felt natural, very well paced, and also invisible? Like very present and attentive but also invisible? If that makes sense. Anyway, great spot and great meal!
Only gluten free pizza I've had in Toronto. Napolitano: anchovy AND capers, very nice base, crispy, thick, stonebaked, sort of like "wholemeal" so tasty! Nothing like the boring gfree dough in pizza chains back home.
10/10 👌🏻 🍕
