Il Baccanale is an amazing place, excellent food, offers everything gluten-free for celiacs, with a fantastic owner! I even ate wild boar for the first time and it was amazing! You eat practically under the Roman portico of a now disappeared amphitheatre. Every Saturday evening, for those who like it, the owner organizes small free tours around the restaurant after dinner, explaining Roman and medieval Assisi... It's a unique experience! Excellent food with art, but when does it happen anymore!

Enjoyed a great lunch at il Menestrella.. located very near PiazzaComune.. made a reservation for 8. Service was very good.prompt, dining area is historic - there’s even a room with a glass floor so you can see the ancient ruins. Very good menu with a variety of options.. I had the veal with limone. They had gluten free pasta for 2 of our group.. so they were quite happy.. and one reason why I chose this restaurant.

My wife, who must eat gluten-free, and I spent several days in Assisi and were extremely fortunate to have found Nonna Nini, where we dined on three occasions. The host was wonderful, friendly, and spent time with us going over all of the food options - many delicious GF dishes. We loved everything we ordered there - Eggplant Parmigiana, the fusion Biryani, seafood ravioli, and chicken curry. Parmigiano, So sorry we had to leave the beautiful town of Assisi...and Nonna Nini!

Nice restaurant in the centre, quite quiet environment, friendly staff always present in the room. There was a celiac among us (in total 4 people) and they provided us with gluten-free bread and noodles without any problem. Everything was good, from the starters to the first/second courses and dessert. Fast waiting time. I advise.
