Our first visit to this lovely pub, meeting relatives from abroad. We needed a wheelchair accessible table - no problem. The real ale drinkers amongst us were delighted with the choice and condition of the ales, the cider was good too. The food was amazing, we were all full as portions are enormous, I asked for a doggy bag for half of mine which worked well. I am a coeliac so need gluten free food and there was plenty to choose from. The service was excellent and friendly. BUT the “background” music was so loud that we couldn’t hear ourselves think let alone enjoy a conversation. All the customers on other tables in our section of the pub were also having to shout to each other - such a shame as it spoilt our evening ☹️

Staff are great when you inform them of being Ceoliac and have a seperate menu for non gluten menu.

Hit and miss I was part of a family meal today , overall we had a good time, parking is ample, and good sized ,restaurant was well lit and warm , it wasn't to busy, Service was hit and miss ,but in general slow and appeared haphazard/ chaotic, , I ate along with another person of the gluten free menu we both had the traditional Christmas dinner and pudding The dinners that came looked very sad especially next to the normal Christmas dinner another member had, after checking the menu we booked off we both hadn't been given the pigs in blankets or cranberry sauce and no roast potatoes, we managed to get the attention of a server who fetched the missing pigs in blankets and cranberry sauce but they didn't have the roast potatoes, so we would have to have the potatoes they sent, who has rock hard new potatoes with a Christmas dinner? we didn't get other veg provided with the normal dinner , the turkey was nice and moist but not much of it, the veg we did get was quite hard but edible, overall very poor wouldn't have it again, The gluten free crumble however was a big surprise, good size ,nice and warm and tasted great, right balance of ice-cream On the basis of the gluten free menu and service. Overall I wouldn't recommend coming here Addition, as you can see the business owner has replied, and by there response it's evident they haven't even read my complaint, that is truly disappointing and shows a lack of care and poor service very similar to what we experienced earlier , outstanding I will be reducing the 2 stars I gave down to 1 star for the sheer audacity.

Had delicious tapas selection including really nice gluten free bread. Lovely flavours and a nice friendly vibe. One of us is coeliac and no side effects experienced. The guy who served us was friendly, professional and knew about cross contamination. Would definitely recommend this place and hope to go back again.
