We had a fabulous time and will definitely make it a point to come back again. I have Celiac disease and it’s hard to find places that are safe. Lovina’s staff were knowledgeable, warm, and I had so many choices! Food was divine.
Came bc it’s down the street from where I’m staying and a review mentioned gluten free options. Wasn’t expecting it to be this good.
Menu’s not marked w gf items, but staff seems knowledgeable and offers gf bread or corn tortilla options.
Sat outside. Ordered corned beef hash. Then saw a chorizo hash special and regretted my hasty order. Then got my corned beef hash and was really pleasantly surprised.
Fresh, great texture, delicious. A little aesthetically uneven, but kinda added to the charm: some homey vibes, and some expert moves.
Amazing place with delicious food. I recommend the Massaman dish. I love Massaman, but it comes with prawns, but they swapped it out with chicken upon my request. I've never been to that area of Calistoga before, and I loved it there. It's such an amazing town. And, an ice cream shop just one block down, which is really good too. Highly recommended. Has gluten-free options.
Typical but tasty Chinese food, at a reasonable price (especially for Calistoga!) Lots of vegetarian and pescatarian options (as well as vegan and gluten free possibilities) I had the Szechuan eggplant lunch special... yum!
Best meal we had in Calistoga! Everything was delicious and the service was excellent. We shared some small plates including the meatballs, garlic shrimp, brussel sprouts, and Spinach salad. I would love to go back and try the house made pasta or their pizza. Great for families and couples and there is a bar area. Not a lot of tables so I recommend making a reservation but we got lucky and got seated almost right away. They also have a bar area. They were very accommodating in helping me find dishes that were dairy free or that they could make without dairy. They also have gluten free options. Highly recommend!
Pizzas and chopped salad were tasty and portions were good. Gluten free crust on one pizza was great.
Service was non-existent. Very few customers. We waited 15 minutes to be approached by a server, 20 minutes later for first dishes to be served. Waited 10 minutes for water bottle to be refilled. Total lack of attention from hostess and wait staff. Too bad because food was good.
Had a great experience last night. I was wanting some of their pit BBQ and was disappointed to learn that is only Friday and Saturday that the pit is going.
The staff assisted me with finding a Gluten-free option, and recommended a tri-tip sandwich hold the bread.
I ordered it with a side of tater tots.
The tri-tip had great flavor, BBQ sauce was not too sweet and the tater tots were on-point - not soggy/not over-cooked.
The vanilla milkshake was a little spendy, but had great flavor, and was drinkable with a straw. Milkshakes are another tricky item, not runny, and not so frozen and chunky that a straw is useless.
Great experience and I will be back.
Food was excellent. Big plate of beautiful, salty, bolognesey lasagne. Tricolore salad was so fresh and well dressed. Calamari frito was light with a nice mix of veggies and slightly spicy aioli to dip. The Mrs loved her gluten-free penne alla vodka. Service was a bit slow as they were down a server but still friendly and attentive as possible. Atmosphere is nothing special but there is a busy din throughout. Glad we chose to check it out and we’ll return soon!
