I've always been tempted by the delicious smells coming from this place while driving through Crescent City, and on this trip, we finally decided to stop in. As someone who is gluten free, I reached out in advance via Facebook to ask about gluten-free options. I was impressed with how quickly they responded and appreciated that they offered several choices.
We went for dinner and chose to sit outside, which offered a lovely view of the water. I ordered the jambalaya, and my husband had the grilled version of their fish and chips. The kitchen was kind enough to modify the dish, since the original was deep fried.
We also shared a half order of fries as an appetizer, and I have to say—the fries were incredible! Perfectly crispy and well-seasoned. The jambalaya was flavorful and packed with meat, but the portion size was surprisingly small. If I hadn't filled up a bit on the fries, I would have left pretty hungry—and honestly, I was a little later on.
My husband’s fish was cooked perfectly and full of flavor, and he really enjoyed his meal.
The prices felt a bit high for the portion sizes.
As a person with many food allergies and diet restrictions, eating out, especially new places is a challenge for me. I was overly surprised when our waiter shared some similar allergies as me and restrictions. It helped me be at ease as she knew exactly what it was like, the struggles, and helped me navigate the menu to be able to enjoy some delicious filling food. I cant thank this young lady enough, and if I'm ever back in the area I will be stopping by again for sure.
Peanut allergy, gluten free diet girl.
They prepared me a plate of “Creamy Chicken Fettuccine” but Gluten Free!
I told them I was celiac and they changed my pasta and it was delicious!
They also accompany it with a salad or soup before as an appetizer. Everything was amazing
I am celiac, and I felt very comfortable. Everything was delicious.
The attention was incredible.
Great experience! I like that you can check in with their QR code located outside and inside of waiting area. They message you to let you know when your table is ready. You will have a wait but trust me, it’s worth it! Food was very full of flavor. They have gluten-free options which is a huge plus for Celiac sufferers. I had a cali-smash burger 🍔 with gf bun. It was spectacular! It came with shoestring fries, I would have loved it if they were steak fries. My man had the pulled pork sandwich on a ciabatta bun and it was “AMAZING” he said. We also did a take out order the next night and they did not disappoint! 5/5 stars for sure both nights!
Staff was very friendly and the restaurant itself was in good shape. The main frustration I had was that there were no real gluten free options. I asked to get an omelet and just substitute the bread out for fruit or vegetables or anything really, but I was limited to bread options and they had no gluten free bread of any kind.
Loved all of the food . Eggs Benedict were spectacular. We had a gluten-free friend with us and they took care of him and made him not feel like he was a burden.. we will definitely stop there again.
Got served the BIGGEST pile of pulled pork I have ever seen in my life, and it was delicious. I also have a gluten sensitivity and didn't get sick eating here, so all around a great find.
Wild Rivers Market is such a gift to Crescent City—especially for those of us with dietary needs! As someone who eats vegan, gluten-free, and dairy-free, finding a grocery store with real variety and quality options can be tough—but not here. Wild Rivers has thoughtfully curated shelves full of products that meet all of these needs without sacrificing taste or nutrition.
Their vegan and gluten-free selections are incredible, from plant-based cheeses and milks to grain-free pastas, snacks, baked goods, and specialty items I usually only find in bigger cities. The dairy-free dessert options alone are worth the visit! I also love their commitment to organic and local products—you can really feel the intention behind what they stock.
The staff is warm, welcoming, and always happy to help if you’re looking for something specific or need guidance on a product. The store is well-organized, clean, and has a down-to-earth, community-centered vibe that makes shopping here feel good on every level.
Whether you have dietary restrictions or just care about healthy, conscious eating, Wild Rivers Market is a total win. I’m so grateful a store like this exists in Crescent City! (I’m visiting the city)
