Talk about top tier service! Our waitress was SO friendly and knowledgeable! She made great recommendations and shared so much about the different dishes. The kitchen was super accommodating to both gluten and nut allergies. Our party of four all loved our meals (I got the pesto GF with shrimp!). We had just gotten off a long flight and this was the perfect spot to visit first, as we felt very welcomed. Would definitely recommend stopping in if you’re looking for something filling and delicious!
Reservations were recommended but we had no wait, arriving around 4:30pm. The staff was incredibly friendly, drinks and appetizers were served promptly, and every dish ordered was cooked to perfection. One of our party has Celiac disease/wheat allergy and the server was knowledgeable about every item on the menu, making this experience safe for her. Highly recommend.
Wonderful experience at this restaurant! We were quickly seated even without a reservation and during a busy time! The food was really good, and they were super accommodating of both a gluten and a nut allergy (I could’ve cried happy tears when our server brought out GF soy sauce without me even asking!). The price was just right and the service was super friendly and quick. If you're in the area and looking for a great meal with accommodating service, this spot is a must-try!
Was just there with my wife who is gluten free. She had the Hawaiian pizza and said it was one of the best pizzas ever! I myself had a regular pepperoni and sausage pizza. Really good wood fired crust. Would definitely go back!
Fabulous food! We loved all of it and they were wonderful at accommodating one of our party’s gluten allergy. I highly recommend the green curry mahi mahi!
Delicious food and lots of gluten-free options! Food is all takeout, but there’s a nice covered eating area in the courtyard near the place. The food was very tasty, and the staff was so friendly.
Amazing iced latte
Amazing gluten free banana bread (no reaction)
Pretty good açaí bowl with PB, avoid the granola (had a reaction)
Overall great place with view
Very nice staff
This is the BEST place in Kauai! We LOVE their açaí bowls! Fresh, locally sourced ingredients and friendly staff. You can feel the love in the food! Amazing place not to miss! Good for people who need gluten free, low sugar and non dairy options.
Girls at the sushi counter were just awesome. Asked if we could get a veggie sushi as my wife has celiac disease (cannot eat gluten) they had already closed down for the night. (Did not tell us.) came back 10 mins later and they were super sweet and made us 2 veggie dishes. They made a pregnant woman very happy!!
It's Walmart. But on a small island, we love having access to some lower prices. Pretty decent grocery section, definitely less expensive. There's a gluten free section, decent spatterings of produce, interlaced throughout with organic eats. Lovely staff members, everyone are always very nice. There's a fabric section too, I think these were removed from several stores, but thankfully not ours. Check the hours, as of right now, they close at 9pm.
Very good local poke place, everything was fresh and flavorful. They were very helpful with recommending things for my gluten allergy. Good portion for the price too. The toppings are pay by weight.
We were only on Kauai for 6 days and made 4 trips to the bakery, trying a number of their delightful treats. After consuming a bag of their sweet potato cookies, we decided that was the perfect gift to take home. We absolutely loved their coconut macaroons and the cheesecake, returning on one trip just to get another. Their sweets are real, made with butter and cane sugar and often with gluten free almond flour. If you are in the Lihu’e area, this is a must stop. We had chosen to buy food in a grocery store rather than eating out, but their sweet treats made it a requirement to break that rule to get their delicacies.
We’ve eaten here two days in a row now. The food is amazing, especially for someone gluten and dairy free. My kids begged for it this morning. Delicious, refreshing, and filling! Highly recommend stopping by this cute little truck!
We had a very nice lunch at Gaylords. We required gluten-free options and they amended the fish taco to include a salad instead of the fries (non-dedicated fryer). The Hostess and our server were both pleasant and friendly. Service was good. We actually attended Gaylords specifically to have the gluten-free banana cream pie. It has a coconut crust and is “to die for”! We met the lovely lady who is their pastry chef. She gave us tips on how to make this incredible pie at home. All-in-all, a lovely experience in a beautiful location.
Hualani’s is amazing. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is so relaxing with stunning views and the service is excellent! We had the pot stickers and scallops for appetizers which were both incredible. For dinner, we had the fresh catch of the day, the curry with shrimp and the fresh fish kids meal. All were seasoned well and hearty portions. My son has Celiac and they had plenty of options for him but were limited on dessert. For dessert we had the chocolate cake and the banana lumpia. All were very good. Great place to stop by on your way in or out of the airport!
I take my breakfast spots very seriously, and this spot was AMAZING! The scrambled eggs with Portuguese sausage and pork with rice was fantastic. I also got the huli chicken pesto panini gluten free to have for lunch later, which I haven’t found many places in Hawai’i with gluten free sandwiches so that was great to begin with, but that was also SO good. Such a cute little place, great quality food that price wise is also reasonable compared to a lot of other places in the area. I would eat here every day if I could.
We stopped here for lunch and it was delicious! The people were very kind and helpful. One person in our group has Celiacs and was able to happily eat the Mahi Mahi lunch plate! I had the grilled pineapple teriyaki burger and it was fantastic! Crisp lettuce, fresh tomato, a slice of pineapple, and plenty of sauce!
Awesome owner had great energy and was super helpful! Despite being busy he gave us a lot of personal time and even wrote out recommendations for my celiac husband. It was nice to have vegan cream cheese as an option but I was personally hoping for a nut-based cream cheese rather than what tasted more like violife. Just a personal preference. Good everything bagel and fresh greens on top. Didn’t try the coffee but heard it’s good!
We both had the breakfast special..our server was great at knowing what was gluten free. Everything from sitting at the table, getting our food and paying was so efficient... something I truly appreciate!
Locally owned Chinese and BBQ. Ordered a delicious lunch for three of us. One has allergies to dairy and milk, and owners recommended BBQ chicken with rice and kimchee. Another has a gluten and spice issue, so they recommended grilled sea bass with lemon grass, rice, and fresh salad. Third person had garlic chicken. It is breaded and fried; it is tasty and fresh. Everything was made from scratch and ready in 15 minutes. Great for dining in or taking out. Variety of menu items. Lots of locals are frequent patrons. Owners have been there since 1999.
