I'm gluten, dairy and soy free. I'm on a quest to find safe places to eat when I'm out and about. If I was just gluten free(not celiac), I'd probably put this place in the rotation, but with all three, I wasn't thrilled with it. I had a bacon hamburger with fries. Their website is pretty easy to navigate and it shows all the food allergens, from what I saw, most items had soy. Their website warns of the risk of cross contamination. I thought I was getting the GF bun with my burger, but it came naked. The fries were delicious, fresh, hot and tasty. The burger didn't have much flavor, the bacon was tasty and crisp. I think their might have been soy in something I ate based on how my body reacted. Shout out to the bartender, she made the visit worth it!
Great atmosphere and delicious food. Pricey, but worth it. And, honestly, everything is pricey these days. Treat yourself and have a great time.
I love that they have an actual gluten free menu! It's rare we have so many great options. We enjoyed trout and black cod with asparagus, mashed potatoes, and crabmeat. We even had an extremely delicious gf flourless brownie with strawberry sauce!
Don't forget to ask for crayons to color on the table paper!
Food is excellent. I go here a lot. The Works omelet with sour cream on the side is so good with seasoned potatoes (picture att), toast jelly and butter. The lemon ricotta pancakes are yummy. The biscuits and gravy is also very good. The kale juice drink is healthy and delicious and my favorite. Cold coffee great too. They have gluten free bread too upon request.
Wish I could've eaten here! They have all their allergens clearly listed. In gluten, dairy and soy free. I spoke to the guy up front and even though I wasn't able to get anything (meat wise), it was a pleasure interacting with him. If you have a latex allergy, be aware that they use latex gloves(most BBQ places do).
I had their gluten-free pizza with the white pizza toppings and I added broccoli and chicken and they were excellent about the accommodations and the food was really tasty!! I have celiac disease so it's really important for me to be able to have them meet my accommodations and they were amazing!
I'm gluten, dairy and soy free. It's hard to eat out when I'm on the road. However, in a pinch, 5 Guys works. Since their burgers are 100% beef and not seasoned and they only fry potatoes in their fryer, it works. I stay away from the mayo though since most have soybean oil as the main ingredient. They do give way too many fries and the food is expensive.
I really love this place and the fact that it offers gluten-free sub bread. Very much appreciate that. I do wonder though what their rate of pay is because the workers seem less than thrilled to be there at times. I’m curious about the cleaning schedule of the soda machine since it very often seems to be covered with soda splatter. I asked and the person was somewhat vague. That being said, the sodas offered are really awesome since there’s a bunch of different flavors to choose from on the fancy touch screen. Overall, they do a fairly good job and we go here pretty regularly.
We have been going to this restaurant for years and is the go to for our Mexican cuisine fix. There are several Mexican restaurants in the area so the theme is quite saturated, but we always chose Mexico Restaurant over the others. First, it is always clean and well organized and the prices are very fair for the food provided. We have always experienced exceptional customer service from everyone including managers, servers, and host. They may not be as upbeat as the competitors or over the top, but we have been here hundreds of times and never have we complained about the service. The food is good and they do a great job updating the menu and offering new items. It is not authentic cuisine, but does enough to provide a great meal. We have a family member with severe gluten allergies, and this is the only Mexican restaurant she feels comfortable at, and they provide her plenty of options. The bar drinks are definitely short of spectacular, but for those looking for a family friendly vibe, Mexico does not really promote alcohol and their bar is always empty. Those looking for a bar scene will be disappointed. The patio is amazing, however inside is comfortable but a bit dull and not as loud and flamboyant as some of the other restaurants. In the end, in a heavily saturated theme, we continue to come here over the others because of the consistency and above average marks in all areas. It is not fantastic at anything, but we have never left disappointed.
Enjoyed a quick and tasty brunch here on a trip to Richmond. The server offered me a variety of options for substitutions and I crafted my perfect meal - Goodness Gracious omelette with turkey bacon, a fruit cup, and a half waffle. So good! My friend is gluten intolerant and was able to order the gluten-free pancakes without issue. Would return!
Fresh poke with good toppings and sauces (greatly appreciate the gluten free options/signage as well) -- the wasabi aioli and OG sauce combo is perfect. I recommend getting a bowl with half salad greens/half sushi rice or it can be a tad heavy. Borderline on value as many of the toppings are an added cost, and sometimes the amount of protein can be a bit on the light side.
I have a gluten allergy and this was the best meal I had in Richmond. No reactions at all. I had a turkey Reuben on gluten free bread. I ate the whole thing and I NEVER do that!! They were very accommodating and the menu is excellent for a small local place. Lots of choices. Would definitely recommend. My husband can eat anything and he said he thoroughly enjoyed his breakfast/brunch. Can’t wait to go back. It’s my new go to when I’m in town. Only regret is that I didn’t try this place when I lived here!! Go try it!!
The burgers are good and the skinny fries are not bad.
I like how they have a turkey burger option and gluten-free and whole-wheat options for the bun. I haven't tried those yet, but I want to next time.
Went in to see if I could find something that is gluten free, dairy free and soy free. The tuna salad's mayo contains soy and they said they weren't sure about the safety of the chicken. I felt like they were annoyed that I was asking questions and they didn't seem interested in making me a customer.
Sarah S. was fantastic. She steered me in the right direction for a gluten free, dairy free soy free experience. I had the chips and salsa without issue. I had the corn chicken tacos for dinner with rice and refried beans. My wife had the veggies enchilada and loved it. My first time here, my wife used to love in Austin and she's had experience with them. The salsa was tasty, lots of lime. We will be back.
