Love this little place! The burgers are fresh and well made, and the fish and chips are always great. Their gluten-free battery is really good, either for your choice of fish or pineapple fritters :)
Interesting set up! First and perhaps most importantly, the dishes served are great. We had a range of dishes for a larger table, from watermelon salad to duck pancake, tempura cauliflower to a beautiful barramundi. And a tuna sashimi which was different. Almost all had a ‘special sauce’ of some sort, which elevated each dish from good to great!
The foods are fantastic. Things that could be improved are more the tiny tables, whether for a couple or for 7, like us. Almost no room for water bottles and dishes being delivered. I guess that’s why staff stagger delivery of the entrees vs mains. Another challenge is the place is understandably popular, so pre-booking essential. Ask for a table at the front. The back, where we sat, was dark, crowded and dingy with a back door to the laneway used a few times to empty rubbish, not very nice.
Service was good. We ordered some gluten free dishes, when standard dishes turned up instead, the waitperson was informed, went off to check and returned to apologise and say the gluten free dishes would be delivered with no extra charge. As other patrons mentioned, the place is not cheap and it’s a bit odd to have to place (and pay for) an order at the counter, up front. Quirky. But all the dishes are great.
The food is ok could be alot better as when you pay $26 for breakfast should have 2 of everything and when bacon isn't cooked right do not deep fry it. 1 slice toast 1 piece of bacon 2 very small sausages half tomatoes 2 eggs. And bean and tomato chunty with was not tasty .
Coffee was very good
As for kids breakfast
$11 for 1 eggs scramble $3 hash brown each
$2 for gluten free toast that was pale and definitely not toasted looked awful.
Not good value for money. I definitely won't be coming back here. Totally rip off
But service was good
