*I am coeliac*
It’s always a concern when going somewhere new as coeliac (gluten free allergy) as cross contamination is a risk. When ordering, we asked about cross contamination and what food could/would be suit. The menu was very clear, with all gluten containing foods marked with the Roman numerals two (II).
And then dishes that could be made gluten free were also advised with a gluten free icon.
I chose the halloumi salad, the portion was huge! And also went for a side of chunky chips as they use a designated gluten free frier for these. So it was fabulous to have chips with my salad, so delicious and fresh! And plenty of halloumi, grilled to perfection, placed on top of the salad.
My husband had a burger, he has no allergies or intolerances, and said that this was also delicious. Great quality burger and bacon, and a nice soft bun.
For drinks we had stowford press cider (on tap), pint of Guinness and a lager shandy.
The atmosphere was lovey, we had walked around Shanklin Chine attraction and stopped at the pub in the beach for a drink. The food looked so good as it was being served, we decided to eat in.
Plenty of tables outside, and the server was so kind and friendly. Very welcoming, greeting all guests with a warm and genuine smile.
We will definitely be back here, it is a true gem! Today is my birthday, and I’m so glad we chose to visit here for a lovely birthday lunch!
