My wife has Celiac Disease and I asked for gluten free pancakes but they gave me regular pancakes. I even showed the hostess what I wanted via their website on my phone. Now my wife is in the bathroom throwing up to avoid having to go to Urgent Care.
We've been doing a bit of a crawl of So Cal Italian mid-price food spots lately, from the westside to the SF Valley to Orange County. Not familiar with Spaghetti Eddie's, but opted to take a look based on good reviews around the web.
This is now at the top of our list. For my gluten-sensitive wife, the offerings were more plentiful and tastier than anyplace we've tried recently.
The minestrone soup sans-pasta and thus gluten-free was delicious. Both of our pasta dishes (Chicken Lombardia and Shrimp Fra Diavolo) were great. The bread was fresh and our wines were quite good.
Also, our server, Adrian, was top-notch. Helped us navigate menu options, checked on us just when we needed him and got us some heat-at-home bread to make sure that (my) leftovers could be enjoyed with non-stale bread. Wonderful above-and-beyond move.
It says something that before we left, we were already talking about friends and family members that we needed to bring with us for our next visit.
Big thumbs-up. Great food, great staff, really good night out.
We went there last night.
We were greeted by a friendly employee.
We ordered a gluten free build your own and a Herbivore.
She accidentally added ricotta cheese to the Herbivore. She realized it and wanted to throw it out. I love ricotta and told her it was a great mistake and to leave it on.
The gf pizza was a nightmare.
A different employee brought out 3 regular crusts before bringing out a gluten free crust. We asked for the gf pizza to be cooked well. It wasn't.
I understand people make mistakes, but bringing the wrong thing out 3 times is unacceptable. It was very unfortunate..
We frequent the Blaze pizza where we live quite often and have never had an issue.
Fantastic service and a great place to host group events. I love how they have gluten free and dairy free options for people with sensitivities. They use a vegan cheese and it’s so good!!
Was really happy to find gluten free pizza crust option and am a big fan of curry and related flavours, so ordered some takeaway from this place. What a find! Delicious fusion pizza AND 2 options for gluten free crust. It's a little pricey, but worth the treat! Toppings are plentiful and the samosa is spicy and delicious. If you love Indian food and Pizza, give this a try.
LOVED: The Quinoa Festive Salad and the Spring Rolls. YUM. The flavor was light and warm and filling. Everything was very fresh. The owners are friendly and helpful. My husband had the Taste of Philly, which was also very good. I love that they label the food for gluten and soy and they label when you can exclude gluten and/or soy. There are plenty of enticing gluten and/or soy free options. I also love the price. Even though I'm not vegan, if I lived here, I'd be a regular customer!
LIKED: It's a deli atmosphere, simple, plain, clean. I like that it's very light.
NO THANKS: I wish they had a non disposable plating option for dining in.
Delicious food! I've had the chicken shawarma rice bowl a few times now and it is so good! Even without the garlic sauce it's delicious. Just tried the loaded french fries and omg they're amazing. This place has been my go-to since having to go gluten-free and they're open late!
