Used to come here on the Iona meal plan, and I continue to come back. I just came again with my friends a decade later. Food is good, atmosphere is fun and memorable. Definitely a “loud” restaurant but only because it’s full of happy people eating yummy food. GOOD pink sauce and they’ll work with you if you have a gluten allergy
Amazing food and service. I have been to Greece many times and the taste and flavors I found here are really true to what one would find in Greece. They also have many gluten free options. The person that took care of us was very knowledgeable about Greek cuisine and allergy requirements. Totally recommend this place.
I was at Maria's for a holiday lunch. They allowed us to choose where we wanted to sit as it was not busy when we got there. The food was served family style for a group of 6 with different dietary concerns (gluten, dairy, vegetarian). The staff was friendly and accommodating - even helping us with our white elephant exchange to preserve anonymity. Due to this lovely experience, I decided to cater Christmas dinner from them. I found it was better to call than email; they took my order over the phone after several attempts due to the holiday rush. They were able to accommodate a peanut and a gluten allergy and gave me half trays to accommodate storage even if I ordered full trays. They also added sausage to the broccoli rabe and pasta dish. All in all it was a delicious meal. They also gave us a loaf of bread. I would cater from them again in the future for sure.
Since it reopened it May 2023, I’ve been to Townhouse at least five times. All of food that I’ve tried has been fantastic. I particularly recommend the Mushroom Flatbread and Lobster Bucatini. The dishes are light and simple. I can dine here whether I want a snack or a full meal. The ingredients are familiar and accessible, I never have to look up ingredients to find out what they are and what they taste like.
However, the dishes tend to be creative, like the pairing of lobster with bucatini and a blush tomato sauce. Asking about the gluten-free Coconut Cake, I was informed that they use a blend of four (non-nut) types of flour. The texture of the cake was like no other cake that I've had, in a very good way. The creativity is particularly evident on the cocktail menu, where all of the featured cocktails seem to be Townhouse creations. I’ve tried several, as well as ordered a complex cocktail not on the menu. All were excellent.
During my experiences the service has always been cordial, yet efficient. The manager, Michael, has stopped by my table each time, to greet me and my dining party. The last time I went, Michael and our server, Kenny, both recognized my party from the previous week and made us feel quite welcome. They were also quick to answer any questions about the menu. I appreciate how Townhouse uses their small footprint and multiple floors to create several smaller spaces. The many small paintings and varied types of furniture further this and lends a less formal air to its dining rooms.
Townhouse it an excellent addition to the dining scene in downtown New Rochelle. It is tasty and affordable option, an in an area where it has few peers within walking distance.
Step aside Philly, there's a new sheriff in town. I've had all the heavy hitters before. I've taken a a road trip just for a sandwich from Pat's or Genos. Now there's Crottys. This is the perfect spot in Westchester for anything craveable, hearty and cheesy.
As soon as you walk in, youre going to see the menu stacked with insane combinations. They don't just have guilty pleasures either. They have tons of gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options. The staff gives you a warm and inviting greeting when you walk in and have the grill fired up and ready to go.
I ordered the Nacho cheesesteak, chicken fingers, Mac n cheese, and the cheesecake bites. I could sit here all day and tell you how great everything was. The leftovers didn't even make it on the car ride home. This sandwich was STACKED with a pound of meat, flaming hot Doritos, ooey gooey cheese, onions, jalapeños and all the fixins. Need I say more?!?!
The chicken fingers were crispy and perfectly partnered with Buffalo sauce and their signature slaw. The mac n cheese was sooooo cheesy!
Thank you so much Joe, Lindsay, and Paul. Every experience gets better than the last!
I was out on valentines day with my boyfriend and we wanted a place to eat. Found this spot by accident. My date saw the lights and pulled me over.
He is vegetarian and gluten free the altered the menu to fit his needs. I am one of those people who tastes soap when eating cilantro. No problem.
The fish tacos mmmm. Heaven. My date had fajitas and loved them. He also had the beans and rice. LOVED it. Raved about it. Wouldn't let me try.
His lefterovers got tossed out by accident they apologized and and made him a small portion to go.
So impressed with this place that I feel compelled to write a review. The atmosphere is laid-back, with a great vibe all around. The food is fresh, tasty, and hits the spot, with plenty of gluten free options, and the service was top-notch. Checks all the boxes! Will definitely be back.
