We came across this restaurant in Stirling almost by chance. We actually wanted to go to the town centre, but the one we had chosen was full, so while looking for places for people with gluten intolerance, we took the car and arrived at this location. A refined and classy environment welcomes you right away. Large windows, a circular structure, a small lake around. From the parked cars you could tell it was a nice place. Where, however, even three hungry tourists with backpacks on their shoulders found courtesy, kindness and excellent prices. They even gave us the opportunity to charge my completely dead phone in their office. We tried hamburgers, salads and sandwiches. Everything was well-kept, fresh and good. Also, lots of space between the tables and a refined environment. It was worth it, even if we had to leave the historic centre and the castle. Prices in line with pubs and bars in the centre. A nice surprise
Unfortunately this restaurant contaminates all its deep fryers with Halloumi cheese (they deep fry it, even in the fryer reserved for Gluten Free food) which means anyone with a dairy allergy or dairy intolerance cannot eat their fish and chips without becoming ill. Such a shame they do not operate good cross contamination practice.
My husband suffers from Celiac, after reading the reviews on this Restaurant, we thought perfect sounds great so I booked a table, around 1 hour after eating a 3 course, supposedly " gluten free " meal, my husband became very ill, he knows the gluten pain when it starts, as he has been glutened several times before, 1 restaurant did admit liability as the waitress gave him the wrong meal, but thats another story, so human error can happen, anyway my husband was very sick for around 2-3 hours after eating his meal, which is around the time that his body takes to eject every morsel of gluten in him.
I phoned the restaurant to let them know what had happened, we are not looking for compensation or a free meal, only to make them really aware of cross contamination etc, but they refused to accept that he had been Glutened, and blamed food poisoning from somewhere else, which really is nonsense, he was however sorry that my husband was poorly. I only wish there was a simple test that we could do after being glutened, just to prove it.

We had visitors 2 were Coeliac and 1 was lactose intolerant and one was vegetarian, the staff could not have been better, GF and vegetarian menu were available and they even adapted something from the main menu for us. The atmosphere, food, service and drinks were amazing, I will definitely be back again. Amazing place, congratulations to you all.

Parking was a bit tricky, but we just used the Aldi car park across the road.
That being said, inside is beautiful, very nicely decorated and the food and service was 10/10.
They have a full gluten-free menu, which was amazing for me. I had the calamari to start. It was beautiful. And for main the mussels. The portion was massive, and you got chips. I would highly recommend this place, well worth a visit!
We visited this restaurant just over a week ago (party of five) for dinner and it was exceptional. The food was delicious, plenty of gluten free options, really imaginative dishes, generous servings, and great service - all at reasonable cost given the quality. The best meal I’ve had in quite some time. If you’re in the area, just go. You won’t be disappointed!
- Haggis ✅ 👌 — it was my first time eating the dish, and it was so delicate! That was pleasantly unexpected.
- Gluten Free Fish and Chips ✅ 👌— large portion, tasty! They also have other gluten free option in the menu
- Skye IPA ✅ 👌
We were with our 1year baby, staff was very kind.
We went to Fraserburgh specifically to get fish and chips. Vicky is gluten free and was able to get a fish dinner, no problem. The fish was good, so were the chips and the tartare sauce was unbelievably good. We had two dogs with us so couldn't sit inside but that was only a small downside. Coupled with a walk along the harbour and beach this was a highly enjoyable day.
Stopped in for a late lunch after visiting Doune Castle and was delighted to be asked up front if we needed Gluten-Free or vegetarian menus. The staff were very knowledgeable and were able to answer any questions we had. They have a dedicated fryer so I had some delicious fish and chips, it was an excellent experience!
I was recommended Johnny Foxes by a friend while visiting Inverness. I’m Gluten and Dairy free. This place did not disappoint. Plenty of alternatives to choose from. Opted for the battered haddock and chips. WOW! The batter on this is one of the best gluten free versions I’ve had so far. The atmosphere was lovely and all the staff were great. Although I didn’t book, I may suggest doing so on a weekend as it did start to get busy and a lot of ‘reserved’ signs were on tables. Would definitely return.

Went for tea. I am Coeliac and they offer low gluten menu, which is there way of dealing with any potential cross contamination. Our meal was good, with decent service

I've had several gluten free takeaways from the Sands in the last few months- all absolutely delicious but I think my favourite is the mouth watering scampi and chips I had last night 😋 Other gluten free options I recommend are battered fish, sausage and smoked haddock and mozzarella. Always freshly cooked and piping hot. Staff are really friendly and helpful. Handy picnic tables outside and no bothersome seagulls.

Friendly staff and really great food (good portions and most importantly, great taste). Great range of gluten free options, too which is a big deciding factor in where we eat owing to gluten intolerance. Also good value, had a cider with my meal and the price was good. Will be back. P.s. the chips are really good here.... Big, fluffy and crunchy.
McGinty's takeaway offers a fantastic menu that includes traditional chippy items, pizza, as well as separate gluten-free and vegetarian menus. The establishment takes great care to have dedicated cooking areas and utensils for gluten-free and vegetarian options. The staff is knowledgeable and attentive to these dietary requirements. I highly recommend trying the gluten-free menu.

Really good food and friendly staff! Accommodated our gluten free request too which was amazing! We didn’t do the boozy brunch but definitely will when we return!
I ordered the vegan breakfast and the kitchen kindly made it gluten-free for me. I also enjoyed the caffeinated oat latte. The staff informed me that they have a variety of gluten-free options, such as fish and chips and pasta. The staff was very friendly and the pricing was reasonable.
Really fantastic gluten free options, staff were fantastic, had options for indoor and outdoor seating. Place had a really nice vibe and enough room to seat six people at short notice. Will be back soon!
Services was excellent, food was delicious and had the made at home taste and feel.
We ordered the fish and chips and steak pie and they were both fantastic. They could even cater for gluten having a separate fryer which made us feel really comfortable. They also have a gluten free larger which they serve me in a chilled glass!, this elevated the experience and it’s something that even 5 start hotels don’t do.
Thank you! We would definitely come back.
