Fantastic spot with gluten free and veggie/vegan options. I haven’t had a veggie burger since living in Europe because they usually contain wheat, so I was very excited to eat one here. I ended up eating here every day I was in Köln because it was a safe and delicious option.
The four of us ate burgers here today and were absolutely thrilled. Even the gluten-free burger was really tasty. The fries could have been a bit less salty, but otherwise, they were great!
Separate baking area for gluten-free stuff so that there’s no cross-contamination. EVERYTHING in the cake display was gluten-free and well labelled with allergens. Cake absolutely delicious and staff knowledgable about coeliac and about how strict you’ve got to be with cross-contamination. I almost burst into tears honestly: lovely lovely spacious place with a wonderful atmosphere and friendly staff. Brownies, cheese cake, tiramisu, cupcakes, strawberry cream cake… I had lemon cake with chocolate biscuity base (DID I MENTION GLUTEN-FREE?!) and it was fabulous.
Had an absolutely delicious 3-course meal at this wonderful diner in Paderborn. My husband and daughter are coeliacs, but there was a huge selection of gluten-free options and everything cooked separately from the non-gluten free dishes.
The diner was modern and comfortable, with really cool decorations and great background music. The service was phenomenal, with friendly helpful staff, who looked after us perfectly. Will definitely be going back on our next trip to Paderborn.
1. The list of allergens on the ordering machines is displayed in such a small size that not a single allergen can be identified without any doubt.
2. If you click on gluten-free on the menu on the website, 90% of the dishes displayed are fried together with dishes containing gluten in the same oil.
Then you can just leave it alone!!
The company has apparently never heard of the requirements for gluten-free food for people with celiac disease...
My wife has celiac disease and therefore wanted a gluten-free burger. Gluten-free burger buns are available, but according to the waiter, only the turkey breast is gluten-free; all other burger options are not. The offer is therefore somewhat pointless.
As an alternative, she could have a baked potato with salad. Both were tasty.
I had the vegan Green Hero Burger. The patty and sauce were good, but the bun was dry and the fries were floury.
We found the service somewhat unpleasant. The waiter was noticeably overwhelmed by our questions and had little inhibition about clearly showing his bad mood.
It would be nice if the Roadhouse trained its employees and raised their awareness in this regard. People with intolerances don't ask their questions about allergens for fun or to annoy the staff, but because they have to.
I like the fries. They are a little thicker. The sauce selection is great and all cold sauces are gluten-free - generally the allergen labeling is excellent!
An absolute dream!
We have been here several times now and each time has inspired us to come back. Frittenwerk at Cologne main station is simply a safe haven <3
Not only is the food incredibly delicious (where should I start - the wonderfully aromatic handcut fries, the wonderfully spicy falafel in a nest of tomatoes and vegan aioli or the brilliant sweet potato fries with guacamole...?), but also super diverse, completely whether with meat, vegetarian or vegan! There really is something for everyone and the portions are a decent size that will fill you up. An absolutely wonderful price-performance ratio!
But what really impressed me was the consideration given to intolerances. The employees are very knowledgeable and a map with allergens is always at hand, so that even with my intolerance to milk and gluten, I can always find what I'm looking for and get my fill here! Unfortunately, this is really something special these days and just one of many reasons why I always enjoy coming here.
Danger! When it comes to gluten intolerance, the shop is definitely safe, but I am not informed about the situation for celiac disease - the conditions may not be met. It's best to ask the employees - a really cool, relaxed and warm team (especially the one man of honor - you know I mean you! :D) who will definitely help!
You are the hottest. See you soon! <3
Really great experience. The staff were lovely and welcoming and as someone who has to eat gluten free we're very helpful as my German is not great.
Would 100% recommend coming here. Oh, and try the pink balsamic vinaigrette! It was delicious!
Very good service. They try very hard to implement the customers' wishes. For example, that you can order gluten-free bread from Liefernado. Very friendly and very customer oriented. The food there is very tasty. I will definitely order more often now.
This location is absolutely recommended! The food is absolutely delicious and the staff is super nice! It is no problem for people with celiac disease to get the burger of their choice, but this should be booked in advance as the buns are made in-house. The only negative point is the restaurant itself, which has very loud acoustics and makes it difficult to have a conversation when it's full. We always enjoy coming back!
Big portions and they give you enough sauce/dressing to fill your big portion 🙏🏼 no dry lettuce for me 😂
They are also very nice and friendly and have a menu that labels their allergens- very accommodating to make things fit within diet restrictions; lots of gluten free options!!
When I visit the Westfield shopping center in Oberhausen, it is a must that I take a break and treat myself to a meal at Frittenwerk.
I suffer from gluten intolerance and receive the best advice and care here. It's always a worry-free pleasure for me.
The staff is extremely friendly.
Perhaps the tables could be cleared and wiped more often - unfortunately it is not a given for every guest to clear away the dishes themselves.
All pizzas can also be made gluten-free. That's why I visited this pizzeria. The journey was worth it. The selection of pizzas is very good. But you can also put together your own. All pizzas are available in three sizes. My gluten-free barbecue pizza (with chicken) was to die for. The base was fresh and crispy. The chicken was very tender. A real insider tip for gluten intolerant people. My relatives also loved the "regular" (gluten-containing) pizzas. We also got plenty of free garlic mayo. But: Unfortunately there is no toilet in the restaurant.
Very tasty food as long as it is not gluten free.
When asked to toast the gluten-free bread twice (otherwise it unfortunately won't taste good as it is stored frozen), the response was nodded, but the employee, who doesn't really speak German, didn't understand and unfortunately didn't do it.
But very tasty for “normal” bread.
There are currently no parking spaces.
I actually love the fries from Frittenwerk, especially the garlic fries. Unfortunately, I don't always find it hygienic here. Today I was simply given a used tray, with a grease stain and a rim. Since hygiene is extremely important to me as a celiac, I now have a bad feeling about eating. But I'd like to be fair and say this is the first time this has happened to me here.
Friendliness is a foreign word for the service. Nevertheless, the food was prepared quickly and tasted good too.
What I find a disgrace is that I had to pay an extra charge of €3(!) per half loaf for gluten-free bread. In all other subways I never had to pay an extra charge, but I had to pay for half a loaf of bread like my sister did for a whole loaf.
Super fresh ingredients are put together here to create individual, cold bowls upon request. It sounds complicated, but it's very simple: point to what you want and the very quick staff throws it into the bowl. The rule seems to be that you can always take more than you think. No matter whether salmon, tuna, octopus or kimchi, avocado and mango - the ingredients on offer are also only of the finest quality. The staff is friendly and also competent, for example when it comes to questions about gluten. That's how it's fun. The sauces have some chili in them, also very, very good. This isn't old stuff just put together in a new alternative, but these make a real statement. And all of this at really fair prices. A great concept is brought to life exceptionally well by the team. Thanks for the good experience!
Since our children have gluten intolerance, it is always a little more difficult for us to eat out. We felt very comfortable here and we were perfectly informed about the allergens. The fries and the gyros (and much more) are gluten-free. It is very clean and the owners/staff are absolutely friendly. The portions were very large and extremely tasty. The gyros are made in-house and you can taste it too. Rarely have I had such a delicious gyro. We will definitely be back ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
The food was super good and, above all, delicious. The service was top-notch and super friendly, and for me, the best thing in the world. Upon request, they made everything gluten-free. I could eat absolutely everything from the menu. I've rarely had such a wonderful experience. Thank you so much for being there.
Dear Mamma's Simple Food team,
My friend and I have always enjoyed eating at your place and have done so for years. Unfortunately, with the last few orders we noticed that things had changed for the worse. I generally order the same food because I love it and can therefore easily judge that the portion of pasta gets smaller and smaller, but the price remains the same. Recently I have had to resort to gluten-free pasta and I am very grateful that you have them in your range. The first time I thought that the gluten-free pasta might have accidentally gone empty, but then the portions were so small and that's disappointing, especially since the gluten-free pasta costs extra. Please either reduce the price here or increase the noodle portion again. My friend's pizza was also very black on the bottom several times now. We understand that darker spots on a brick oven pizza are normal, but in the past this was not as extreme as it is now. We love your ingredients and will definitely order again because we don't want to give up hope yet, but please take the reviews to heart.
We ordered for the first time and didn't regret it. The delivery even arrived earlier than stated.
The food was super tasty. The veggie burger was also bombastic.
We can only recommend it and will definitely order again.
To the team:
Keep it up!!
It's good to know that you offer gluten-free and vegan products for people who have intolerances.
Thanks
