I was looking forward to going to the Wokalup pub as the menu had lots of GF options. But alas only 2 dishes suitable for a coeliac, but the meal I had was very nice (grilled fish and was prepared with care) and as I was at a table with 8 others there meals looked good as well, friendly staff and nice atmosphere
Saturday night dining experience. It was busy.
Service was excellent. Attentive, but not intrusive.
There were plenty of gluten free options. But not for dessert.
Duck leg risotto was tasty (according to the wife).
The pork belly/ribs were average. Could have been elevated with crackle skin and seasoning. The whisky BBQ sauce was nothing special. Believe it or not, the honey carrots were my favourite part of the entire dish, and I'm a BBQ carnivore fiend.
The whisky selection is astounding (for the location). And who knew Sweden made such incredible whisky:
Moment Fjällmark, 42% ABV, $35
Cask - Swedish cloudberry wine, Oloroso and Pedro Ximénez sherry
I also had another whisky (Ben Riach Cask Strength) which was ok, but let down by the crumbly cork. It was refunded from the bill, but I got the distinct impression that the manager knew about the crumbly cork but chose to serve it anyway. Tut tut
N.B. This is an inside outside dining experience. It's cold inside and out in winter, and will be hot inside and out in summer.
Definitely need to book a table, but a worthwhile dining experience if you're in any way a whisky fan.
The Norfolk Hotel has one of my favourite atmospheres of any restaurant or cafe around. You are surrounded by greenery and walls of history dating back centuries. It's a popular place so it's always bustling with people out for a meal or just a drink after spending time at the beach. You really can't help but feel like you are in holiday.
I did really appreciate the portion sizes when it came to the burger and chips which was tasty and filling while being a healthier option than many other burger places due to their portioning! The share platter was an incredible sight which was filled with delicious meats, breads and salads! The wait staff were very accommodating, remaking a salad to be gluten free when the error was on our end for assuming it was gluten free. There are also so many dairy free and gluten free options or alternatives to almost every item on the menu!
The bar staff however tended to ignore customers waiting to order a drink to the point the bar was crowded with people waiting and filled the cups with more ice than necessary (as you can see in the photo) so the coke was very watered down, but I believe this can be attributed to the number of things they had to do on a busy evening.
Overall it was a very relaxing and pleasant meal.
The Carlisle Hotel was our first stop after getting off the plane from Sydney. It is seriously an iconic WA pub that had a great drinks menu, friendly staff that know how to whip up a cocktail, and an awesome pub ambience. Most importantly, the food was exceptional and easily catered to my Coeliac dietary requirements. Highly recommend!

Cannot fault this place. Lovely staff, spacious room with a balcony, great comfy bed. Pizza was delicious and they even cater to gluten free. And the 950 bus stop is right out the front so super easy to get to.

Just had the best weekend here , tonight is our last night . The Lakeside Restaurant is so good , the food was amazing , the staff were amazing and so friendly . I am Celiac and they helped me to find what I could eat . The rooms were lovely and clean . And the scenery is beyond beautiful and so relaxing . We will be back again , for sure 🙂
This is a hidden gem for gluten free people. The gf battered fish and chips was outstanding. The batter was light and crispy, could not tell it was gluten free. Lots of other choices too. Iced coffee was also gluten free 😁 one happy lady. Well done Walkaway Tavern
All the bar staff are epic, the current chef Nils, is epic in catering to gluten free. They have gluten free pizza bases and can adapt heaps of the menu to items to be gluten free including then parmigiana’s (no crumb)
Massive props absolute legends. Highly recommend 👍🏽

It was the most delicious meal. Being coeliac, almost everything on the menu is gluten free. I had the chicken breast and it was amazing. I will be back. So good

Perfect stay for us, the rooms were very comfortable and clean. Large towels in the bathroom. Food in Sails restaurant was outstanding. After reading the mixed reviews, it exceeded our expectations and we would not hesitate to come and stay again. The continental breakfast in the restaurant was adequate and enough to be filling, and they also supplied a small amount of gluten-free options and alternative milks. We recommend this as a place to stay.
