horrible service. i ordered a blueberry muffin and the person next to me ordered one a minute after. they had me pay for it and then told me they were all out and gave it to the person. this was after waiting in line for 20 minutes. the staff has absolutely no manners. if your looking for good gluten free food with good service save yourself some time and choose a different bakery.
they also do a horrible job at making accommodations. i ordered myself an omelet and told them i could not eat mushrooms and they gave me an omelet with mushrooms. then got annoyed and took another 20 minutes to make me a new one. and it was undercooked and smaller than the actual serving size.
I love this place so greatly, when I lived downtown I would eat here on the regular. The best thing is it is very inclusive of most diets and has a pretty nice selection of vegan and gluten free items, including at some times of year seasonal cakes and pies.. yumm..
However, today in summertime, their were more choices in the salad and entree bar; including some delicious looking pasta salads, and did I mention how high quality all the ingredients are? Today I kept it simple, and got the gluten free vegan snickerdoodle cookies. They are like puffs of sweet satisfying heaven. I can have few with a small latte and just allow my mind to travel and vacation for a moment. The latte which I had for their, in a cup, making it all the more cozy was divine. Steamed well as for the almond mylk, and had a lovely sweet nutty flavor to the espresso. Very quick service btw.
Thats the beauty of this place is you can go and get a latte and nosh, or an entire meal and perhaps some wine.. I will keep coming back and have heard the best things about the owner, thanks for such a delectable space🙏🏽
Crushcakes is an absolute gem in our community. Their support of local events, like our pickleball fundraiser, shows just how much they care about the people around them.
They are always welcoming, inclusive, and make everyone feel right at home. The iced matcha is one of my favorite go-to drinks, especially in the summer when you need something cool and refreshing.
I also really appreciate their gluten free options. It's not always easy to find treats that taste amazing and still fit dietary needs, but Crushcakes nails it every time. They make sure no one feels left out, and that's something truly special.
Yadhira and Andy are AWESOME! We ordered a gluten free pizza with vegan cheese and they made sure to use separate gloves and a separate rack to bake the pizza. This place has the BEST gluten free vegan pizza ever. Also the salad was delicious. Great service, fun atmosphere! We will 100% go back!
Mesa Burger is a buzzy, lively little restaurant with patio seating, shoehorned into the Mesa strip shopping center. Excellent burgers of many kinds, and supportive of gluten free diets. They also have an unadvertised build-a-burger option.
The atmosphere is really nice. I came here to try the quiche and gluten free baked goods. The blueberry gluten free muffin was quite small and mildly flavored. I got a much bigger and better one at Helena Ave Bakery.
I read the reviews raving about the quiche and I don’t get the hype. It’s a slice of a basic quiche. It’s nice the crust is gluten free but it was quite thick crust and the quiche was not freshly made…maybe it was fresh from the morning, I got there around 10:40am. But it was reheated and cold in the middle.
We were not ready for the phenomenal service and great drinks. The food was delicious and easily marked for gf (perfect for my wife who has celiac).
Definitely try the wings with buffalo sauce (the yuzu touch makes it bright and tart), their coconut shrimp (divine and gf!!), and their bison burger (cooked perfectly through and through).
Watch the video, see the presentation on the drinks. My wife loved her Mai tai, and my whisky drink which I cannot remember the name of, was fabulous in all the ways.
Make sure to ask for Aaron, he was awesome and made wonderful suggestions. And then go for a beautiful stroll down the pier when you’re all done. It’s a perfect introduction to Santa Barbara.
My wife was looking for a gluten-free pizza place and found it on Google. We didn’t realize that we were in an area in Santa Barbara called The Funk Zone, which was a very neat area that was very lively and fun to experience. This place has a walk up window where you order and all seating is outside. The food was very delicious, and it was just a nice atmosphere overall.
Popular restaurant and bakery in downtown Santa Barbara. Great place for breakfast on the weekends. A wide variety of Danish baked goods along with some other non-Danish items. Some gluten-free items also available. All the baked items I’ve tried were good to very good. Depending on the item, you may be able to ask for a small taste before purchase.
Many items available by the piece for dine-
in or takeout, as well as entire baked items such as pies, cakes, and large pastries. Special occasion cakes can also be pre-ordered, such as birthday cakes.
Indoor and outdoor dining available, with outdoor dining being a good place to people watch as this block tends to be somewhat busy with pedestrian traffic. Parking available via multiple nearby public lots off of Chapala Street and Anacapa Street. Boutique shopping also available in the nearby La Arcada shopping center.
Great place for dinner, food was tasty, drinks were great. More than that the place is Gluten free friendly, we have celiac and waiters were very knowledgeable, knew about cross contamination, and recommended accordingly on dishes that will suit us. Gluten free sushi!!

The best sushi I've ever had! And we had to eat gluten free and the waiter was great with recommendations and making us feel safe eating our meal! Will definitely be back!
Loved the food, atmosphere, and our server Zack was amazing! I am gluten free and Zack was very knowledgeable and reassured me that he would take every precaution to ensure my meal was gluten free. We got the ahi tuna crudo, butter leaf salad, and catch of the day which all had excellent summer flavors and were the perfect portion sizes. Definitely recommend.
I'm not used to eating at Gluten free restaurants, but this place had some surprising dishes. First off, wasn't too excited to be going here in the first place. Not much looked appealing. Ordered the salmon. And I was pleasantly surprised. It was very tasty. Also had this Kung pow cauliflower appetizer (I hate cauliflower) that was so delicious. Wow, so good! Overall, it was a great experience.
Mouthwatering food, a charming atmosphere, and outdoor dining with sustainably sourced ingredients (organic and wild-caught). A heaven for those seeking dairy-free and gluten-free options. Exceptional service.
Food was delicious and good gluten free options! Husband had tofu scramble and loved it. Warning the portions are huge so have an appetite!
Server was super friendly and very helpful with explaining the gluten free options.
The store is always busy, love that I can get a lettuce wrapped gluten-free burger. The fries aren't that great but at least I've learned to order them crispier.
This is the best restaurant in Santa Barbara! I had the best experience with service, food and the overall experience! They are very familiar with gluten free options! I highly recommend it and will be back! 👏👏👏. Eva was so welcoming and lovely. Omar was an outstanding waiter and very attentive!
The atmosphere here is fantastic. Even though it was overcast when my gf & I attended, it was still fantastic. Service was great. Our server knew the menu we'll and helped my gf choose something that was gluten free. Bloody mary & and Mimosas were great.
A lot of heaters in the outdoor dining area to keep you warm along with a glass sea wall..
Once you're done with your meal, you can go for a walk on the beach.
Place is dog friendly.
I cannot complain, and hope more people start going here. I ordered an amazing Gluten Free Crust, Hawaiian style pizza (The Meigs Rd Pizza. Soft, charred Neapolitan crust with tangy BBQ sauce, succulent ham, crispy bacon, juicy pineapple, and sharp red onions with a sprinkle of freshly chopped cilantro. I replaced the babecue sauce with their tasty marinara sauce, along with sliced jalapenos.
You can order their different pizzas with any of their crust options. They also have appetizers, sandwiches, salads, and I think she said they have pasta, or are hoping to start serving pasta dishes soon. There are TVs near the bar area, so you can watch your favorite team.
As of now (May 2025), their beer $7, and wine $9 (and champagne) are cans and bottles. If I counted correctly, they have 20 tap handles, but the entire system needs repairs. Let's help them and give them our business, and hopefully they will be able to get the taps & lines repaired soon
I cannot say enough about this tasty pizza & great service. I really wish I could eat wheat flour again; Because their deep dish pizza looked amazing, and was screaming my name. The owner said she would like to try and learn how to make gluten-free deep dish. Maybe one day I can have one from them.
The server and the owner were both absolutely amazing, and I cannot wait to eat there again. I live 2.5 hours away, and found this place just because they were open late, and had a gluten-free crust option. I have to be down there again this Thursday for work, and I already know where I am going to eat.
I highly recommend you bring ear plugs and prepare to have zero conversation with your dining companions if you choose to eat a Ca’ Dario.
They have crammed so many tables in the two spaces, you literally have to push/pull them back and forth in order to squeeze around other diners and to get up/down from the table. That means there’s far too many people sitting in the space, and with the high ceilings and hard surfaces, everything is loud, loud, loud.
Service was poor. Our server started out fine. Once our food was delivered she was never to be seen again. More water? Would have loved some. Fresh pepper for your salad? That would have been nice. She did get swamped and in the weeds very quickly, but still didn’t change the fact that other neighboring tables received service and we did not.
The gluten free pasta was great. The romana salad was lovely. But none of that was worth the headache that came after the nonstop cacophony of noise for the duration of our meal.
Had a fabulous meal here on the patio, which was very peaceful on a Friday night. By contrast, the interior was very lively, crowded and noisy. Great food. Wonderful, friendly service. Favorites were the crudo and beef carpaccio. Least favorite was the chicken paella but only because the amount of paprika was overpowering (I’m not a paprika fan). Looking forward to visiting again. Very easy for celiacs and gf eaters.
Food is top notch central/south American. Not just plain mexican; great variety and very tasty
Almost everything they have is gluten free. Tortillas are made fresh with your food.
Don't be scared off by the outside appearance. Small and looks like a dive. I wish they were near my house; I would be there several times a week!
A friend and I went for a morning hike and stopped here for a little snack. She got the gluten free blueberry muffin and I got the toast with butter and jam . The sourdough toast is impeccable. The raspberry jam was delicious.
First time here. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful even though it was extremely busy. The chips and salsas were very good and gluten-free. I had the chicken enchiladas. I requested extra sauce and sliced radishes. It was delicious. My companion had the steak fajitas, the meat was cooked to perfection but it was a bit bland. On the plus side they have lots of gluten-free choices.
