I have dined here many times and the food and service have always been exemplary. By far and away the best Italian food on the Peninsula. Atmosphere is cozy and warm. I have tried other Italian restaurants in the vicinity, but none come close to the quality of the food at Azzuri. They also have gluten-free pasta, so I can actually enjoy noodles!
Fav Italian restaurant 3 rd visit here ..Food is always good. I am gluten free and they have penne gluten free pasta. Very accommodating. Just wish they would have a different know gf pasta like angel air.. Otherwise great restaurant great service . Top of my list for Newport news, VA.
Birthday dinner salad and bread fine. I order the ribeye and gluten free pasta. I ordered my steak medium rare. It came out rare. Took it back to cook longer and it was like they never recooked it. Still raw and every time I cut a piece it was full of grizzle. So I never ate very much of it. Seemed like a wasted meal. Topping tomatoes and gorgonzola was very salty. Birthday cake was un shareable . It was like a "1" inch slice .. It wasn 't like what I saw across the room at another tableor what the server described.. with hot fudge sauce.. Singing was sweet. Meal was subpar for a birthday meal.. Disappointed..
We came for the fettuccine Alfredo but loved everything. Service was excellent, Nathellia was fantastic. Can't wait to come back and try some the Gluten Free options. Don't miss the unique and interesting twist on classic cocktails with Amari that are are the name sake of the restaurant. They are a tasty and gentle entry into the category.
