This is the BEST curry I have ever had…hands down. Every time I’m in Kamakura, I head to Gokuraku Curry for lunch. It’s naturally gluten free (I’m allergic to wheat and gluten) so have been so lucky to have found this place! It’s a set meal that includes chicken curry, rice, salad and chai tea. It’s so delicious, I always savor every single bite. If you live in Japan, you can also order frozen curry online to be delivered to your home.

A wood-fired bakery. It's a little bit off Komachi Street from Kamakura Genjian, but it's tucked away, so if you follow the udon restaurant Inoue Shoten as a landmark, you'll see it. Is it okay to burn wood in a place like this? That's the first thing I thought, but I was told that they had taken proper measures to prevent this. When I asked him about it, he said that he was self-taught and built the kiln by himself. It was built using fire-resistant bricks, and the kiln was heated every day. Before I even eat the bread, I'm shocked at how serious they are. There is a lot of firewood piled up on the outside wall, but it must be difficult to carry it to this place. The bread seems to be made only from rice flour, but apparently they used to make bread using flour from Hokkaido, but the yeast didn't work out so they switched to rice flour and it's been 10 months since they started again. did. This is a shop that is full of the personality of the owner, who is very particular about everything. I think it's simply because there's no gluten that it doesn't rise, but even though it looks small, it's heavy when you hold it! ! The staff at the store also explained that it weighs 1.5 onigiri, so I don't think it's completely similar to wheat flour bread, but rather it feels like it's a completely different thing, even though it's called bread.

Love this place! cozy and decked out in surf side motif. The dishes are amazing with a great selection of Thai and Vietnamese fusion. Reasonably priced with Gluten free options. Just a few minutes from the train station.
