The staff, chef, and owner are outstanding in their support of people with Celiac or gluten intolerance. I want to thank them for an excellent meal and a friendly atmosphere for my family.
Gorgeous little cafe and so refreshing to get oat milk as standard! All the food looked wholesome, fresh and really clearly marked with what was free of nuts, gluten and refined sugar. Coffee was absolutely delicious – going back again for the second day in a row!
We got a decaf latte, breakfast tea, flapjack and banana loaf to take out. Would love to sit in next time as it was really cosy.
Ate dinner here on Monday 16th September with 2 friends celebrating our completion of the West Highland Way. Booked following a local recommendation & excellent Google reviews. They helpfully moved our booking back an hour as we were running behind on our walking schedule.
Dinner was fantastic - both quality and quantity - my seafood (smoked salmon) starter was probably my best ever and my Italian friend rated her seafood tagliatelle very highly. They werealso knowledgeable & helpful with my gluten free (coeliac) requirements, meaning I could enjoy my meal with confidence
Good food, a bit busy, good sign!
Gluten-free possible. Nicely centrally located on the main street. Fort William is an elegant village from which you can make nice trips to the area. Like a lake cruise. Walks on Scotland's highest mountain. All in all great!
Excellent early evening meal at Spice Tandoori, Fort William. Menu well marked up for Gluten Free options. I would say it's the best Garlic Chilli Lamb dish I have ever had. Coconut Rice was awesome.
Nice place good food but pizza is NOT coeliac friendly. Neither are the fries. However there are other options. But you have to ask specifically, and be sure to triple check when you order as well- there are separate gluten free nachos as well as non-gluten free ones.
Just beware that not all staff are aware of the options, or even that there is a separate GF menu at the desk which you have to request. The menu itself is not very clear, and it does not mention that there is a separate fryer for chips, and staff don't know either (I found out afterwards with the below reply from owner). It's a pity Brexit has made food safety so inconsistent and unclear. If you are used to the EU regs it's vital to triple check every single item in UK, as you can see from the nachos issue above.
We had a delicious dinner at the Bistro. Gluten-free options were marked on the menu and staff could provide information. The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was cozy. Parking spaces are available free of charge in front of the restaurant.
