This restaurant brings the ‘authentic’ title to Japanese food wholesomely. It has been randomly discovered by a group of friends, and it has instantly become the spot we all attend for any sort of celebration. The service is excellent, the food is fantastically fresh and well-prepared, the restaurant has a beautiful cozy atmosphere, the staff are humble, welcoming and honestly friendly, and the prices are very good. As a coeliac, I have many options on the menu, and never have I been left to feel a ‘troublesome’ customer. I highly recommend 🙂

I went to Etsu with my family who had travelled from Manchester because I loved a meal I had before lockdown and recommended they try now that we could have a meal together. I have someone in my family with Crohn's who has been unwell and needs gluten free options. They could not have done more to help her. They talked her through a separate menu which had detailed checklists of what she could and couldn't have, totally putting her at ease. Plus the waiters were very knowledgeable about all their dishes. They even gave her a gluten-free soy that she's never been offered in other restaurants. When we got our food (and we ordered a lot) there wasn't a single dish I didn't like. The karage was exactly how my boyfriend had it in Japan and the sushi was absolutely excellent. We also had mochi balls as desserts and the Bailey's cheesecake which were also amazing. My family absolutely loved it and we were absolutely impressed with the service. I think this is going to be a restaurant I will go to for birthdays.
