I really wanted to like this place. We avoid seed oils as a family and right now my daughter and I are gluten and dairy free. When I saw they could do a gluten free crust without egg in it I was excited.
The regular pizza my husband and dad had was apparently delicious. Our pizza was okay. The middle of the crust was super soft and floppy and the outsides were burnt. There was also barely any sausage on it.
Service— the kitchen messed up my husband and dad’s pizza, no biggie, but when they brought it out they had unevenly placed the toppings so my husband side was small. It also took our waitress 30 minutes and 2 reminders to bring our lemons. I used to serve and definitely have forgotten to bring things out before but that was on nights when I was working 4-5 tables that constantly refilled in a multi step high end restaurant on a weekend. It is a Monday and there were maybe 3-5 tables seated in the restaurant and 2-3 servers working them.
Lastly, we should’ve tipped 10% but the server in me felt bad and still tipped just below 20%. Our server came back with our ticket and said, “we have no small change so is the $20 okay?” We were owed back $20.63. Never in my life have I had a server short change me. The proper response would be to give us up to the next dollar amount of $21. I had to keep my own bank as a server and I would always round up more if the bar or another server couldn’t break a bill for me. I know cents may seem trivial but if the restaurant or the server (if she has to keep her own bank) is doing this frequently, they are either pocketing the money or the business is.
Like I said. I stand behind the mission of the restaurant but the delivery and service was quite disappointing for over $75 dollars on 2 pizzas, 2 drinks, and a side salad.
