I grew up going to Black Angus and it had been a long time since I had been there, so I was excited for a nice dinner with my boyfriend. We got a coupon and thought it would be a good way to spend a Sunday night. He has celiac and we were limited on our appetizer options (there was only one) but decided it gave us a chance to try something new, put our order in for that and our meal. I wanted ribs. Minutes later the waitress told me they were out of ribs, I decided to go for a steak. Then the manager approached our table to tell us they were out of our only choice for appetizer and offered us two desserts, we aren't dessert people but we figured that was fine. When dinner finally came my "loaded baked potato" which I said, the only thing I didn't want on, was sour cream, only had sour cream. At this point we'd been in the establishment for almost 2 hours and I decided not to say anything and just scrape it off. When the dessert menu came we found that there was only one option again for someone with celiac, but that was okay and we just asked for it to go. By the time we finally left we had been there for 2.5 hours. I honestly felt bad for our waitress who continuously apologized for the lack of food as well as the slowness of the bar as well as the kitchen. As expected we were charged full price for every item, even charged extra for the butter sauce on my steak after they told me to get whatever I wanted since they were out of baby back ribs. I was slightly disheartened because the whole evening felt like a series of unfortunate events. All this to say we will not be back to this establishment, which is a bummer since I have such fond memories of it growing up.
