I feel terribly disappointed with my recent experience at the Co-op (I have been shopping there for 4 years), and after seeing the responses to some of the reviews, it’s quite obvious that professionalism isn’t exactly their forte. Which does make my experience make more sense. I ordered GF pies for the holiday and had a pick up date of 11-19. This was particularly important since Thanksgiving is my husband’s favorite holiday and he’d be in another state for work on the actual day of Thanksgiving. He loves fruit pie and I have celiac so I was super excited to order from Jen. I drove 30 minutes out there on the 19th to pick up my pies. Jen told me they weren’t ready and that she had no intention of making them until the week of Thanksgiving. I explained my situation and she took my number after I showed her the email stating they’d be ready on the 19th. As I was speaking, someone she knew walked in and she began speaking with them while I was in mid sentence so I awkwardly walked away so she could converse with her friend. Tuesday of Thanksgiving week, (after my family had already celebrated Thanksgiving), I had heard nothing about my pies and my husband was flying out the next day, so I called. They informed me the pies would be ready that evening after 4, so my husband drove the 30 minutes out there. They were not ready and wouldn’t be until the next day, so I told him just to ask for a refund since I work evenings and now there’s no way to get the pies or enjoy them together. I never got the refund so I had to call on 11-28 to ask again. It’s such a long drive to go to the co-op but I’ve always made the trip because I believe in supporting local farmers and small business, but the genuine rudeness and lack of concern or respect for both my time and situation, (especially when the website allowed me to choose the 19th as a pick up and then I got a confirmation email AND one trip costs me an hour of drive time), has pretty much burnt me on the desire to continue supporting this particular business. I’ll still order my beef from Bachman Family Farms and I’ll still continue supporting local farms and small business but I’m going to have to get the taste of this experience out of my mouth before I’m willing to go back here. After seeing the responses on these reviews, I don’t really have a lot hope for reconciliation. It honestly surprises me that Jen puts so much scripture in her email, and speaks so much of the Lord, then I see responses like that to reviews. If I had not tried to deal with this multiple times in person, I would not have left this review at all. Perhaps they only want particular people at their Co-op and i don't fit the criteria. Either way, be aware of all of this before supporting this business.
