We stopped into Diamond Knot without any expectations, we were in the area and hungry. It was busy (Friday@6:PM), but we were able to score a table outside. There’s a lot on the menu, I settled on the Rueben, and my wife ordered the jalapeño popper burger, with chicken instead of ground beef.
The Rueben is served deconstructed on a hot rock, which makes it an experience. I cooked the krout and pastrami to my liking, melted the cheese and the dressing before moving the contents onto the bread. It was perfection, and freaking delicious, I will return just for the Rueben.
I neglected to grab a good photo before I dug in, I was too excited. Next time I’ll get the hot rock shot.
My wife was also very satisfied with her chicken “burger” on a gluten free bun. The bun fell apart as some gluten free buns do, but the chicken was cooked to perfection, and the jalapeños and cheese are a perfect accompaniment.
They also have good tater tots, a perfect side to our sandwiches.
The only disappointment of the meal was the house made blue cheese dressing my wife got with her side salad, it was on runny side and tasted a bit eh.
I should mention that the service was excellent; friendly and attentive, which is what you hope for at every restaurant.
