FIG & OLIVE | Fifth Avenue

Not the place to go if you have a gluten allergy or need to be gluten free, there are so few gluten options it was almost laughable. I think it’s one of those situations where they were being overly cautious, but wow. I was the only GF at the table and we ordered the crustini’s, they all came out on Cucumber. When we asked for the original, they came out on cucumber again. The place felt a little chaotic when we first came in and even after being seated. I can’t speak to what the rest of the group got, but as a person with a gluten allergy, I would not be back.

A lovely little gem on 5th Avenue boasting a comfortable, elegant atmosphere. The wait staff was attentive, accommodating and knowledgeable. I mentioned that I was gluten free and the waiter suggested leaving the toasted pecans off my salad to avoid cross contamination. I had the Fig and Olive salad and lemonade. Both were freshly made and flavorful and the portions were just right. My partner ordered an Old Fashioned cocktail and the Free Range Chicken Caesar Sandwich which came with homemade Rosemary Chips. Both the drink and sandwich were amazing and expertly prepared with attention to detail. My new favorite restaurant!!!
