I'm gluten free and when I asked for a gluten free menu, the managing partner brought it to me himself and explained the demands he makes on the kitchen staff to be aware when preparing meals for people with food allergies. I was so impressed and thankful. The food was fast, hot, and prepared just right. This is one of the best Outback Steakhouses I've been to.

We had "call ahead seating" (they informed us that they don't take reservations, but this would ensure we had a table when we got there). When our party arrived we waited at least 40 minutes. The hostess was flippant when we told her we had called two days earlier. When we finally were seated we were put in a booth.....6 adults in a booth sitting shoulder to shoulder. Service was slow, we didn't even receive our drinks for a good 15 minutes. We had to ask for straws from another server and silverware was apparently a hot commodity that night because we had to ask twice for it and upon finally receiving it our waitress tried to blame the hostess for not giving it to us. We had to remind the waitress that we wanted to order food and it was another hour before we received it, which made us late for our concert. Hot bread was an afterthought and not brought out in a timely manner. They have a small gluten free menu but no gluten free bread.....I will have to say that the salmon I ordered was good, but the service has poisoned me against EVER returning here. If I hadn't known that this restaurant has been in this location for a long time I would have thought they had just opened and had an inexperienced staff. Yes, they were very busy, but that should not matter. It's almost like they were surprised to have a full house. There are restaurants in Charleston that serve great food with superb service.....this is not one of them.
