I rarely leave reviews, but we had an oddly unpleasant experience here on our vacation. My wife made a reservation weeks in advance, and we showed up early dressed to the restaurant's code. Once we were given a table, we were mainly ignored.
We chose GW Fins for its positive gluten free (gf) reviews, but the waiter told me I could only eat one entree, the local drum, a couple starters, the bbq shrimp and ceviche, and the wedge salad (and before we order, told us there was an off-menu entree as well). I checked reviews online and found additional options others had ordered. I asked for the cornbread (confirmed gf) and ceviche as starters and local drum for my entree, along with my wife's non-gf order. After we finished the starters, they cleared them away, and another waiter gave us dessert menus like it was time for us to leave. We left them on the table, and our waiter came and took them away without commenting about our entrees or asking if we wanted to order drinks to go with our meals. The entrees came and were fine, then someone came and cleared our plates and stood there like they were waiting for us to leave. The waiter came and gave us the dessert menu again, and I said I'd take the bill. I paid, and my wife and I took turns going to the bathroom. After she wrote the tip, I picked up the book to look at it, and the waiter quickly came and took it. Then (I believe), I overheard the waiter implying to another staff member he thought we were going to dine and dash.
I could maybe understand this kind of service if we were walk-ins, but for a reservation, the whole experience was really disappointing and somewhat uncomfortable.
I honestly would not recommend GW Fins for its service alone, and I was surprised there was a dress code and "fine dining" label on a restaurant that took so little care of its guests.
