Nautilus Restaurant

The 5 course degustation was amazing and we were catered with gluten free options. The staff were outstanding and the food was beautifully presented and tasted even better. Definitely recommend this place if you are in Port Douglas

Very sad to say that the Nautilus experience is dwindling rapidly. I first ate here 30 years ago and it was an exceptional experience, both venue and food. Over time we have seen many changes but last year it was quite limited on food choice and this year the menu has reduced to just one 5 course degustation option only. Whilst they accommodated my coeliac and dairy intolerant daughter, the portions are miniscule and the service was very slow between courses. Two delicious mouthfuls then an agonising half hour wait. We booked the matching wines and one glass came after the food was served and another was completely forgotten, we had to go to the bar and ask for it. Very, very disappointing as this has been my favourite restaurant Australia wide for decades but after this experience, I doubt I will come back again.
