After a long day of cleaning and packing we found a gift card for Olive Garden. It was ten years old but we have never eaten at Olive Garden so we decided to use it for a carryout order. First, let me say that the website for ordering is sort of a nightmare - just don't bother - but that is a corporate problem. We called our local restaurant here in Lexington and they took the order without an issue. However, when we went to pick up the food we were told the full balance was not on the gift card. I won't go into details, but it was weird. Apparently, the restaurant can usually run a history and find where some of the balance was used but in this case they could not... anyway, the waiter was super nice and tried to find the cause of the issue. The manager even came out to our car. Again, in my mind this was a problem at the corporate level, not the local level. The local folks were professional, courteous, and went out of their way for us. I would recommend this restaurant because I felt the manager and her staff were serious about service! While the food was not as flavorful as I would usually like, it was hot, fresh and a perfectly good dinner for the price - with or without the card. Most importantly, if you want a gluten free pasta, Olive Garden has a decent assortment and they actually know how to cook it! Times are tough with the Covid shutdowns and restaurants who look out for their customers deserve our business.
