For the life of me, I can't understand the positive food reviews. I understand that my meal was using gluten free pasta (boxed Barilla, if I'm guessing correctly) and gluten free pizza crust (same crust I've had from 4 different pizza joints so I think that wasn't made in house either). I have higher expectations because my local italian restaurant makes their gluten free pasta in house. We will ignore this portion of review since my dietary restrictions aren't relevant to most customers.
However, the sauces and ingredients were otherwise the same. Scallops pale, no sweetness, nary a sear nor a seasoning, same with the shrimp. Calamari was pretty tender. Everything coated in cheese. Scampi pizza was strongly reminiscent of a pizza I had at a sandels all inclusive resort which kind of gives and idea of quality. Honestly, my favorite part of the meal was the asparagus served with the artichokes- this was perfect.
This was an Olive Garden experience, which, if that's what you go in knowing, is fine. I don't like that the review is so negative but when I see 4.7 stars I really walk in thinking this is a great authentic italian experience . Service was good. Food was a major miss.
