Raby Castle, Park and Gardens

This is a great place to visit and you can easily spend all day here. The staff are all friendly and very helpful. The volunteers have some great stories about the history of the castle. The grounds and castle are beautiful and peaceful, with lovely walks through the deer park. The restaurant serves lovely food and has a good range of options including several gluten free choices. We had a wonderful time and will visit again.

My husband and I visited Raby Castle for the first time today. It certainly won't be our last visit. The staff are so friendly, informative and happy to help with any questions. The same goes for the cafe staff, smiling and friendly, the food was lovely, catering for gluten free and dairy intolerance as well as vegetarian and vegan . The gardens and surrounding grounds are beautiful and immaculate. The castle itself is grand and full of history. Each room has something unique to see with very knowledgeable guides who it was obvious share a passion for the castle. We were lucky enough to meet the curator Julie who showed us part of the castle not normally open to the public. This was really interesting and again her knowledge, enthusiasm and charm shone through. I would recommend anyone getting this opportunity to take it up. There is plenty of parking spaces and the toilets were immaculate.
