We were in the Lexington area and were looking for some local Southern cooking and this place came up.
We noticed there were a lot of regulars when we arrived. We were seated very promptly and were brought out a dinner menu and a gluten free menu for my wife.
I started with a Yuengling beer that I cannot get in Illinois.
Their dinner menu starts after 5pm and they offer a few breakfast items, sandwiches,Meat & Three along with a few homemade favorites. I chose the open face Hot Brown which Kentucky is famous for...turkey and ham on top of a slice of bread with gravy covered with cheese and bacon. Very good..maybe a little too much cheese.
My wife had the BBQ chicken breast with 2 sides. Again ,just like you would get at Grandma's house.
The portions are huge otherwise I would have gotten a slice of Missy's Pie..they looked amazing.
For a good ole home cooked tasting meal..this is the place!
