Lovely pub sitting on the banks of a river with a wide choice of food and lovely staff. The only thing wrong in my opinion is endemic of all of these types of rural pubs, they offer a vegetarian menu that might have multiple items cooked in or with meat. And for me, a coeliac they take the opportunity to save a few quid by removing items from a plate rather than replacing them. In my case a roast chicken dinner I had to lose the enormous Yorkshire pudding and stuffing. There was no attempt to pad out the plate with an extra potato or a carrot, no you simply get less than everyone else. So while everyone else was “stuffed” I certainly wasn’t! I long for a day where food places have the forethought to replace rather than just take away. Then active reviewers like myself would be giving them five stars rather than four! Beside this all was good and I’d definitely recommend for carnivores 😎

They fit us in with no notice on a Sunday, for the carvery. Everybody pleased with the options, including a brilliant nut roast. No problems with gluten free ordering. Plenty of people, but the service was great and the price was right for the portion sizes. Would recommend, especially if you can bag a table with a view onto the broad running by.
